I posted in that Triumph X75 thread last night saying I liked the bike and raving about other "collectible" bikes: basically trying to broaden the discussion as other posters had done: had a look today and my post wasnt there:
basically I am interested in whether it was modded, and if so, why?
Why dont you just pm a senior Mod like we have asked a dozen times? Instead of starting a thread about it....
This is related to you and your posts... why should the whole KB be in on the conversation?

If individual threads have been consigned to the Drivel Post Thread, it is generally because they were deemed to be inappropriate for where they were initially posted. This is particularly true for the "technical" discussion threads.
And moving posts is a hassle -- it's not something that Mods do lightly.
And we (mods) aren't going to litigate every decision we make. If a particularly member feels that they are being "picked on", they should take their concerns up with a Senior Mod (or all four of us if they wish) through the PM system, as Joni noted earlier.

For fucks sake:
I didnt want to start an argument
I am not caling into question anyones parentage
I am not trying to start a revolution
I dont really care whether my post was modded or not, except to say that as far as I was concerned it was mostly "on topic", it was relevant to the discussion, it was self deprecating, and was directed at a bunch of like minded individuals.
I also wasnt aware that I should Pm a senior mod or whatever:surely a subforum called "Site stuff" IS the place to ask the question.

What I have found quite wierd... is people are on this site every day, yet they dont know the basic rules/requests... even when they have been posted and asked countless times...
If you have a problem contact a Moderator
People have been told the process over and over again...
Then threads like this are started and it becomes a big bitch, anti mod thing again - if the peson had just pm'd a mod by now the issue would be resolved.
If they read the site stuff threads, they would what Kickaha has said is right, we dont delete, if its out of contect its moved to PD.

We have deduced that some of your "contributions" have ended up in the Drivel Post Thread. I think that most of our members (well, those who actually care about what lives in that particular thread) are more than capable of reading them and drawing their own conclusions.
The LOTPIHGAD thread seems to make some people happy and provide a reason for their existance. However when that banal discourse spills into other threads, mods will sometimes deal with it. Kiwi Biker is not LOTPIHGAD. Thank goodness.

Fuck I love these "shoot the mods" threads.
I see both sides of the coin. People who I actually enjoy scocialising with, and are fairly nice in person, have an unexplainable urge to wreak havock and take the piss at every opportunity. They're not interested so much in the "bike" side of KB, they like the scocial and constant ribbing side. Any attempts to discipline them, will agravate them and turn it into a personal vendetta.
I'm close friends with more than a few moderators of KB (VERY close to one) and they're charged with the thankless job of trying to keep the site friendly, good natured and leaning towards the bikes. What the site was built for.
KB is a victim of it's own success. You will never change or dissuade the wallys (Dover) who think it's their right to poke as much fun, when they wantat whoever they want. As they say, it's the fucken internet for christs sake. But the reality is, this site was built and designed for bikers to talk about bikes and bike stuff. The mods were appointed by the man that started and owns the site and he has given them control on how to keep things moving forward.

I would hazard a guess that most of the "villains" are (also) into bikes. The original idea of the site to talk about bikes and bike stuff is still being fulfilled. I would also think that there are a lot here who enjoy some of the other stuff too. And maybe thats what adds to the success of the site. Time will tell if the harder line being taken increase or decreases the sites popularity (I'm sure there are stats gathered on the site of logins etc that can e tracked).
