Peterborough Panthers star and former world champion Gary Havelock has put his support behind the “Ride it or Lose it” campaign, which aims to collate information provided by riders about accident blackspots and dangerous stretches of road.

Havelock said: "There are a lot of bikers who come to speedway, and I thought this website was a good thing to endorse. It allows bikers to plan the safest route to where they are going.”

"I never ride a bike on the road because you never know what a person in a car is going to do. We all ride round the track in the same direction, and you don't get cars pulling out."

The campaign's website, www.handleitorloseit.com, overlays crash data, provided by motorcyclists across the country, on detailed maps, using symbols to represent serious and fatal crashes.
