I have lost low beam on my GSXR.
The standard lights are shit anyway.
Does anyone know if there are up rated bulbs available locally and where from please?

Maha, Mom and Mrs Busa Pete, can we please keep this clean, no need for sexual innuendo in a headlight bulb thread ok guys.

just go repco or super cheaper, and pick up one of those +50% sorta builds (phillips) meant to be the best,

take the old bulb out so you can get right sort, i not to sure off top of head what the k3 1000 uses

Alternatively if you feel like splashing out about $400 you can install an HID system.

It depends what bulb the gixxer has. If you take it out, it will say Hx where x is a number... Thats what you'll be after.

H4 is common, and Hella make a +50% bulb. Find out what it is first, and autostop stocks them.

Thanks for the heads up to this thread mate...........I see that you have already received some good advice, all I can add is when my "genuine part" extemely expensive H/L bulb stopped working on low beam, and I remortgaged the house to pay for a replacement "genuine part" that also stopped working in short order, I did what you are doing and asked for advice. I ended up badgering my local bike shop to stock a cheaper bulb, they did I bought one and as far as I know it still works.......opppppps you wanted a brighter one didn't you? :o: NOt having asked for a brighter one, try your local supercheap or equivalent of our "we have that on order" auto shop....hope that helped

Now that wasn't hard was it Mom?
I took Cajun's advice. They do seem better, but of course will need to test at high speed (responsibly and on a closed road of course) one night soon - purely for research purposes.

Sorry, can't give you bling, but yeah, that's about right.
Just didn't feel like playing Russian roulette myself last Thursday.

uuuh... try 200... theres not alot of point having a HID main beam... and single bulb HID sets can be as cheap as 70-80US

Thank you for the tip there Cajun.
Went on the Thursday ride last night with the bulbs you suggested. Definately more light output, but still the shape of the beams are shit. Low beam illuminates the road just in front of you and high is pretty much a pencil beam.
