:shit: Lastnight as U4EA and I drove from WGTN to Levin we were shocked with what he found on the side of the road

I saw a guy pushing a scooter up the a hill by forest lakes....going back to see if the chap was ok we discovered that he had been told to walk his bike home after being pulled over for no tail light .....Can understand that fair call from cop..and no fines....but for this chap to be made to push his scooter home in the complete darkness of SH1...... I believe was a bad call from the cop in this instant and as he was waiting around the corner for this scooter to come past  I just wonder how long he waited for the scooter that sneaked past in the back of a 4x4 :Punk:

I dont believe the young chap should of been on the road in the first place with his scooter but I also believe he should not of been left to walk his bike home in the dark...........

Thats my bleat time to

Well it was a bit stupid for the scooter chap to be riding without a taillight (in a 100km/h non lit highway i presume !!??) . However i think its just as bad that the plod left him to push his scooter with no lights at all on the side of the road...

Good on ya for picking him up though :niceone:

Edit - re-reading your post , ive posted pretty much what your saying.....so I agree .

I had the misfortune to develop a short circuit in the middle of nowhere that blew out my indicators and tail light - carried spares and blew each one of them as I put them in as I couldn't find the short.

Luckily was with a friend on a 'busa so he rode behind me and I rode home in the darkness.

If I remember correctly bikes have to be fitted with a refllector to cover such a situation. The scooter rider would have been in the same danger whether he was riding or pushing. The cop obviously had nothing useful to do, why couldn't he let the guy ride and just follow him home. I've seen a few cop cars with one rear light out, one of them, a local, still wasn't fixed two weeks after I told him about it.
