I've been thinking lately about what I might replace the Busa with. This afternoon I took a Phillip Island press release K7 Thou for a ride. It runs about 1,000 rpm higher than the busa in top at 120 & has plenty of
top end (not a lot more than the Busa) but corners were a breeze & brakes were awesome.
Surprising what a lack of weight & wheelbase do.
It lacks the torque of the Busa - very noticable down low (legal speeds). The controls & layout are excellent but the mode button is useless unless on wet grass!
The temperature climbed to over 100C around town but open road it was around 74C.
The Busa wins on torque, touring, pillon comfort and stability.
The Thou wins on handling, brakes, and instrumentation.
The little things - Busa has a clock but lacks the gear indicator. Analogue v Digital speedo. Temp guage is good but Tacho looks busy.
The big things - Weight, torque & practicality verses handling, brakes & instrumentation.
So.... the jury is still out.
Do I buy another Busa & work the suspension over and bling the instrumentation or wait for the B-King release (prob out of budget)?
In the mean time I'm listening to good advice & dribble and will put my bum on whatever is in the ball park to evaluate.

Don't just visit one dealer, visit them all. Who knows but that you might find something to your liking that isn't painted blue and white.

I will if I get a chance.
Also looking at V twins as a comparison. Anything from: Moto Morini Corsaro
to VTR to SV or Aprillia etc.

Seen as you do plenty of long rides I would have thought another Sports tourer would be the way to go . Seen Dave that had the Burgandy Busha here on his Aprilia at Whanga on Saturday & he just loves it . He kept his Busha for a few weeks to make sure he was going to like the Aprilia but said that while on the first ride on it the Busha felt like a Whale & realised how all the Aprilia's road round corners so fast without any effort . Not to sure the postion would be good for ya dodgy back . Maybe try a FZ1 Yamaha like Darcey Mancino ? He raves about it .
VT250 Spada. You know you want it...straight swap.

Ride everything you can mate :) Ask other Kb'ers if you could try thiers as well ( you might have to ask REAL nice, but hey :D )
Its you that will be getting all hot and bothered over the right bike when it comes along, so dont be too swayed in your opinions
PS Remember this is bikes we are talking about- rationality and common sense are not strictly necessary :D:D

Jokes aside...are you wanting less weight, equal performance, more comfortable body position....? So many options, all of which depend on requirements.
try the rsv - it is the ****. if i wasn't commuting i would have got one instead.
secondly, 07/06 10r is amazing, personally. it has a little less mid than the gix but makes up with nutty top end :)

If I was you my friend, I would quite seriously think about not only the new ZX14R, but try a Triumph Sprint ST for a slightly more touring oriented view, as well as perhaps some genuine Superbikes like a ZX10, R1 or 1098.

Had it on good authourity that there was a dealer breifing friday night outlining releases before the end of the year.
Yes there will be another Busa (08) & also the B-King.
I await B-King pricing with baited breath!
Try a Blade. Not as quick or as grunty as the GSX-R1000 but an excellent all-round bike. And no, I'm not biased in the slightest

Pfft. VTR1000F. Bloody awful suspension, crude engine, but a stonking wheelie bike. 3000rpm, 1st gear, handful of gas and up it comes.

rsv and rsvr are better bikes. Do better wheelies too.

I didn't know what to think of the 08 when I first saw the pictures.... now I reckon it's just the dog's bollocks. Get a blue/black K8, go on, you know you want to
