Yup I've had the ER6n for about 10 months now, and done almost 12k on it, mainly commuting into Wellington.

Main reason I bought it was that it was so easy to handle and the power so progressive - it still goes well when you wind it up, but it doesn't threaten to bite your head off if you get it wrong! It's really tractable off the line and I don't think I've ever stalled it. Cheap to run ($22 to fill on 95 RON goes 300km's) and I've not had one single problem with it - I've only ever lubed the chain and that's it.

Downsides - the suspension is only ok, if you really push it the rear end can get a bit confused and start to skip a bit. Other than that nothing really - it does move about in the wind a bit (narrow bars I think) and I fitted Motech mirror extenders as the standard mirrors were a bit crappy (especially with the winter gear on!), as well as the tall seat option (my local dealer wanted $1000 for one, but I managed to get one from the UK for $400) which adds 3cms to the seat height - it wasn't bad before, but my knees just felt a bit bent when stationary! (I'm 6'5")

With it being a relatively new model, it's quite hard to get aftermarket bits at a reasonable price (looking for an exhaust at the mo, to make it a bit more vocal), unlike something like an SV650.

They're also pretty good value new (<$10k) or 2nd hand (<$9k)too, best thing would be to try and find a demo and see if it floats your boat!

I've got the ER6F and love it. Suspension's a bit average but otherwise very impressed:scooter:

Thanks Guys. Nice write up. I'm getting one and test ridden it at Mt Eden Motorcycle. Has a 250 feel to it and excellent for my commuting purpose i.e lane splitting in Auckland at peak hour.

Yahoo out with Gixxer 750 and hello ER6.

Cheers
