Manakau Heads was the destination today, so on the road at 9am and mosey of down to Papakura to meet up with Bass and Mrs Bass. Also planed to meet up with McJimmyboy and his followers (more on that later) The roads out that way are damn spiffing to say the least. Some awesome sweepers and a few tight bit with one or two nice straights to throw into the mix. We did meet up with McJimbo as the pics prove, but where the hell were the rest of the 'Clan'?...

After a short stop at the lovely Tea rooms out that way (thats when McJim turned up) we split up and went looking for the 250 riders that McJim had missplaced.... ... ended up at the heads lighthouse (why the hell do they build those things on high bits ) where i think they had been but, but had gone by the time we got there...:scooter: . So up we trudge..puff puff! but what a view!! Caught up with the McJim Clan at the Waiuku pub, the Kitchbitch or whatever they call it....

Unfair to blame McDisco for losing the bunch, I think it was more a case of the bunch losing him, cos he stopped to natter with us on that corner

Cant say as I blame him for not wanting to follow us up to the heads after his experiencing my "directions" yesterday :o

Thank goodness for pubs is all I can say really. Found the "Scottish rider" yesterday at Puhoi after he could not find Matakana (my directions) and then today at the Kentish in Waiuku.........hmmmmm I see a pattern emerging here, I will  I think.

Did you see the size of his burger there?........he managed to take bites out of it without unhinging his jaw!!!!!!!!! *mutters something about a big mouth* and now I am def

Aye - I'm a gobshite in more ways than one eh?:gob:

Was good to see you fellas again. I always seem to meet you, part company, and then meet you at a pub again - are you following me or summat?

Maha - hope your new suspension is doing you proud. The roads out at the Awhiti Peninsula are spectacular right enough and a darn good test for a new set up.

Hope you find the time to pop in for a coffee next time you're over here.

A great day people - enjoyed the company and meeting a whole batch of new faces.
As for a certain someone losing his ride - well one or two bikes I can understand - it happens all the time, but losing a whole ride and the one he organised to boot....... well as I said at the time, that was just plain careless.

I planned to give them a piece of my mind when I caught up with them but then realised I don't have enough to spare so wisely kept schtum. :killingme

That's pretty close to my "Patch" you didn't do any tagging did you ? Cos we don't need every Tom Dick and Harry travelling out here , with you putting it on the map. Awesome ride on good days with little traffic but always expect the unexpected, deer, turkey's, cows, 4wd and Rental campers on the wrong side of the road.I'm being serious here too.

Yeah - I saw the turkeys - then lost them as none of 'em waited at the turnoff and I missed it!

Seriously though - met the camper van and the turkeys on this visit.

Nice pics. I've done a bit of work at the signal station at Manukau Heads over the years. Great views from up there.
