I'm seriously thinking about getting a CBR1000F. Got to test ride a ZZR600 which was impressive, but the dealer wants AUD$9,800 for it! OK it'll have new 4-into-1 pipes, new Bridgestone Battlax BT-20s, be rejetted and serviced, but it's still a '98 bike. That's too dear.
Jumped on a CBR1000F and fell in love. The ride height and ergonomics are perfect for me. It'll suit the daily run 80km down the F3 and back each day. They sell for between AUD$4,700 to just under AUD$8,00 depending on condition. I know they started making them in '87, but when did they go out of production? Some dealerships are claiming '98 although I thought '95 was the last year before the Blackbird was introduced.
Below are the CBR's that are supposed to be '98s and the ZZR600. (the white spot on the ZZR was a "security sticker" which has been removed since the photo was taken)
