While mucking around with my new Garmin GPSMAP60CSx for the Russian trip (http://www.russiantraverse.co.nz) I've found a couple of bits of really useful software including:

Img2Gps (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mdipol/img2gps/)

This program allows you to upload Garmin *.img files straight to your gps without the need for map source.

And, perhaps even more useful

GPS babel (http://www.gpsbabel.org/)

This allows you to convert track and waypoints etc between gps units.

Anyone else found any useful software for GPS out there?

Cheers.

I use a Garmin eTrex

EasyGPS

GPS Trackmaker

Trackmaker is a bit more powerful - i think both are free?? You can download your tracks from the GPS to your pc and then view in the app or save as a google earth file (cool)
I haven't done it but im sure you can create and upload as well
