LOVED the Next Gen (Picard's team) as the 60's/70's storylines weren't really relevant to me.
It's gotta be Shats.

KIRK: the original. Picard doesn't lose anything from that at all. He just wasn't the first. Kirk was just a little bit of parody begot of his actor and always got his girl. Picard was definately a lot more serious and probably a bit more life like. Hell I'd even say, " more realistic ", but he inherited that mantle.
Defiantly Kirk,Spock and McCoy.I saw the first series when it first showed in NZ,man, real science fiction, not that crap like Lost in space. We watch it every sunday on Prime - all my kids have been Star Trek fans....it's like Thunderbirds or Dinosaurs, kids just love it.The shoestring budget is hard case - McCoy curing spacemen with salt and pepper shakers....
But I'd really like Dr Crusher to heal all my problems with a few makeshift props....

Its like comparing the "other" Superman's to Christopher Reeve. Just ain't the same. Didn't Jim Hensen of the Muppets start off as a puppeteer in Star Trek ? LOL

ST:TNG were all gay. And I don't mean gay in so far as it means happy!
Kirk, well he was the trail blazer, so respect goes to him for that...
Janeway... now THERE is a captain I would serve under... or over... or around... hell wherever she ordered me to be of service, I would do so without question...

I can't believe the question even needs to be asked. Kirk, of course.
Now in a question of who would win a FIGHT, now that has driven many a web forum...
Kirk vs Picard? We must agree Kirk. Picard isn't really a physical kind of guy.
Kirk vs Luke Skywalker? Even with the force and the lightsaber my money would be on Kirk.
Kirk vs Darth Vader? Definitely Kirk.
Kirk vs Spock? Kirk, but then he would let Spock of at the last moment and refuse to kill him.
Who can beat Kirk?
I'm going to start a new thread!

Both men had the first name James and similar surnames and were brought up on farms (Cook in Yorkshire, Kirk in Iowa). They both became captains of ships with similar names (Endeavour and Enterprise). Cook's journal said he had travelled "further than any man had ever been before" while Kirk said his mission was "to boldly go where no man has gone before".
Cook and Kirk both set out to describe, rather than conquer or convert the lands they discovered. Cook set out in boats with his naturalist, a surgeon and musket-toting red-jacketed marines. Kirk beamed down to planets with his science officer Mr Spock, his medical offcer Dr "Bones" McCoy and various expendable characters in red jerseys.
The similarities are surely a bit strong to be total coincidence?
Captain Kirk was a sicko..he porked every freakin alien he ever met, including angry looking green ones.
Now I'm not prejudiced or shit, but a man's gotta draw the line somewhere.

Scott Bakula!! FUCKING HATE THAT COCKSUCKER! Goddamit, he's the guy who wrote that idiotic Prime Directive, he personally condemmed over a billion people to a long and painful death in series one. That's what stopped me watching ST Enterprise.
I hate him. I hate him so much if I ever see the actor in the street I will punch him in the nose for the crimes of the fictional character he played.
Enterprise should be expunged from the Star Trek canon. Or fired from it.

Quantum Leap... ???
Enterprise (They only ever showed series 1 here in NZ on public TV) the show didn't really come into its own till season 3 where enterprise saves earth etc and season 4 starts anwering some of the questions of the other series.
Same as the new BattleStar Galatica so far only series 1, but they are already filming series 4 in the states... I had to download series 2 and 3 off the net (thanx jack) sorta answers why shows in NZ get canned so quickly because they to far behind and with most pepople can't wait that long and download off the net and when it does come on TV the don't get the ratings as most people that want to watch have already seen it... tis logical
MacGuyver was pretty kewl in StarGate SG1

Hah of course I did. I'm more of a Cook fan than any of them, though Kirk got my vote. Just can't help wondering if the Star trek writers took just a tiny bit of inspiration from Cook.
Yes that Seven of nine certainly looked a racey model in her costume. That would have kept the male review ratings up as I guess Lt Ohura is getting a bit over the hill by now.
