Im looking for some new All weather adventure / touring boots, must be waterproof / beathable, preferably something in black that I can walk around in when off the bike.
I ride a BMW GS, so I dont need race spec!
Thanks in advance.

Hi there
I can recommend these boots
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=1042222&postcount=33
Whilst I havent had them for long, and havent tried them in really wet weather, they stack up very well
They are super comfortable, very light when they are on.
They are warm when cold, and they say they are waterproof (which I have yet to try out)
The only thing that wont suit you is the colour, but with the trousers over the top they look like hiking boots  and have a similar comfort
Cheers Scott

Oxtars with Gore-Tex. Mine have traveled in nearly all imaginable conditions and have yet to leak or put a foot wrong. Ha ha.

Have a look at this site:
www.altberg.co.uk
This company manufactures their own boots, and specialise in the Armed Forces/Police/Bikers.
I have a pair of their Altberg Hogg Lite Originals, and they are just so comfy, and my feet have been forever dry.
Well recommended.

For the more budget oriented....
I've had a pair of Prexsports with a waterproof membrane for 8 years and 70,000 km - never leaked a drop and still in one piece. I rub some melted baby seal blubber into them occasionally to keep them supple. They were as cheap as chips and rate as my all time best economy purchase. Highly recommended!

I've had two pairs of StylMartins now, and love them. I have wide, flat feet, and the last they use for these boots is perfect for my feet, so the boots were comfortable from the first wearing.
My current boots are the StylSafe: they're 100% waterproof, have leather outers (unlike many boots now that are Lorica = plastic), and have a 'boot within a boot' inside that has carbon fibre panels on it. Apart from the CF panels, they have ankle cups both sides which other boots I looked at didn't have. Also unlike most boots, they have velcro closures both sides of the calf, so they accommodate extra fat or thin legs.
I've found them not too hot in summer, but warm enough in winter I can wear thin socks underneath.
Apart from the CF panel on the shin, the CF is all hidden, so they're not too weird-looking to wear around. The leather construction means they're flexible and good to walk in (I wore my last pair, the Strada, tramping around the Waipoua forest last year, when touring around.)

I need some new boots. I've got some very nice boots already but they are not waterproof, so pretty much a 2 season boot.
I'd love to find a boot that looks like a normal walking shoe/boot, but offers breathing and waterproofness when riding. I'm waiting for BMW to get some boots in my size down there, as one model looks ok. Apart from that I haven't really found anything. Some of those Oxtars look good, did you guys order them from the UK or is there a retail outlet in NZ?
I like the boots you got Zukin, but only from the ankle down. It would be nice to find the ultimate boot you could wear all day, keep cool in summer, stay dry in rain, walk in the forest and up for many kms, and go to a smart casual business meeting in (I'm morally opposed to suit and ties) :)

So buy a shoe and waterproof the hell out of it.

I don't think that will work... I had more of a purpose built item in mind. :oi-grr:

Most boot lines have onet that goes under a title such as "Urban" or "Street" or whatever. Style Martin definitely do I have a pair, Dainese do, Falco(?) advertise one locally. Google is your friend

Yeah, so do Sidi.
Given your criteria, I believe that one of the first considerations should be that the boot is leather, not plastic. So go into a bike shop (or several), and try on some that are leather, waterproof, that you can walk in, and that is fairly plain (not too many flashy tacky add-ons) so it doesn't scream POWER RANGER!! when you're not on your bike.

I have done this, but can't find one that I'm 100% happy with. Which brings me back to the other question, where did you guys get your Oxtars? Some of them look like normal boots/shoes. Sleeper bike boots ftw.
got mine in hamilton from bike shop opposite boyd honda in te rapa, (not sure of name sorry) about $300ish, www.oxtar.com

Thanks a million everyone who's answered.
Protection is important as I had an off last year and was almost paralysed (fractured spine / broken ribs / broken hand) thanks to a 'dis' organised Honda trail ride (avoid Granville Button in Canterbury) - Ive been wearing 'seal skin' socks on the inside of Alpinestar tech 6's, they are waterproof but almost impossible to walk in.
So thanks for the advice all, really handy to get some info from users rather than the local bike shop assistants who are keen to sell thier own grandmothers shoes to make a quick buck!

try rik at lifestyle-imports.co.nz couple of styles waterproof and comfy afordable $170-$225 from memory
+2 for the Stylmartin "Stylsafe" - cannot fault them yet, apart from the cost.
Also heard good things about the Sidi Canyon and the boots made by Sidi for www.riderwarehouse.com (Combat Touring Boot/Combat Lites).

....and you really should have a look at the Daytona websites.
I've been in a pair of theirs, Travelstar GTX for three years, had 'em resoled for postage costs only, and I've spent the weekend at the BSB/WSB/Moto GP/Rallies and meets with them as my only footwear.
They've toured Canada to below 15 degrees on the prairie, and are my day to day boot through the summer.
They're only mid range boots, and for the extra protection, Daytona also do the boot in a boot ones, but I can't remember the name.
Comfy from the off, and my UK size 12 feet don't even fit in Sidi or Alpinestars, the arch behind my toes fell years ago.
