Google Keith Code and also Twist of the Wrist
He is the racing teaching guru (scientologist unfortunately but hey, can't have everything) and the books are the racing bibles.
Cheers

Serious, Craig Sheriffs- "I never ride on the road, learn too many bad habits."
Andrew Stroud, hasn't owned a road bike in forever, and niether of the above take race bikes on the road.
Use the pent up aggression from not riding like a dick on the road, to go faster on the track.
Race heaps, lose heaps, crash a few times, then it will all start to come together.

All i do is eat sort of good food , bend over all day into a car bonet for money , all i drink is coffee with 3 sugars(energy) , or bourbon .
I wonder if thats why my inner thighs are soooo sore after a meeting ??
Ohh well i do ok i guess.
Trick is to learn the basics of racing first,
Dont run before you can crawl.
Get yourself fit Physically and Mentally as in a long hot race you need to be mentally fit or else you are just gonna crack.
I never had this and my first year on a 125 I got disorentated and forgot what I was doing. And what I did was run and when I couldnt run any more because of the pain I told myself to keep going I did this lots. Keeps my mind in place,
Think about the track the bike and what you are there for!!!!!!
Think you are the best!!!!!!!!!! otherwise you wont do so well
Dont be happy with a last place
Keep focusing
Dont ride on the ride like a hoon
I gave up road riding and went faster straight away I could concentrate on doing Race moves only
Umm yeah and thats it really from me
Oh and dont focus on things like getting your knee down let it do it itself youl go alot faster than trying to do it.
And if your struggling with atrackdraw it down or whatever and work one corner at a time dont try work all 7 or whatever corners at once or else youl forget what you did at turn one just work them in series one by one
And the thigns will come naturally
Now Im not the fastest rider out there but this is what I did and its made me improve

Eh? PM Frosty, or Shaun?
Couple of "has beens" mate. There's a new emerging talent in NZ road racing. Anyone that gets his knee down several times on the way to and from Uni or whatever should be giving THOSE guys tips.

In seriousness, if you're after better "race fitness", you should be training within your target heart rate. Therefore, if during a race, your heart rate is 130 bpm, that's the zone you should do your cardio training at. This will build your stamina at that rate.
wow ok ill just sit for a min with my finger on my wrist lol yeah i do find after long days at the track it kills me the next day especialy my legs

I recommend rowing machines, and stay away from big weights, stick with stamina stuff. Pull ups should be done in conjunction with your pushups.
Don't give up road riding, don't ride like a dick but use it to hone your technique, body positioning etc. Work on lines, smoothness and listening to what the bike is telling you.
