Have been lurking for way too long-time to join in!Have been riding again for over a year now and its the best best thing!
I have riden a sizable chunk of the South Island over the summer on the trusty bema.Awesome places-Haka & Danseys pass,Lake Coleridge,Lees Valley,Molesworth,Rainbow and all the roads inbetween.Have meet a few Kiwibikers and look forward to meeting more.
Thank you to SDU & Lemans for introducing me to the site ,I have got so much great info already.
Especially like info on survival skills(yes I have crashed big time) and tyres.The 1000 eats tyres!!(TKC80s gr8t but dont last & cant get Saharas)

Welcome to KB! Sounds like you've done some epic trips over the summer, awesome stuff. Still plenty more to do though eh. I was talking to a guy yesterday who reckons that if you ride up through Lake Sumner and follow the old Maori trail, you can get to the West Coast.... I really must get a dual purpose bike

The low speed offs can be the worst - broken my arm :nono:
Oh well,good thing i finally logged on - can fill in sum time on the site.
The dog is happy, lots of long walks and she wont have to look sideways and glare at the bikes cause they will be staying put:weep:

hi just read your post im new to south and are very impressed with the roads so far hope to spot u some time iwill b on a rather dusty cruiser as i now have 10 ks ofmetal hell before i can get out of 4th gear cheers

Yep-we are the worst:angry:
Cringe to say this Orthopaedic/Spinal nurse with many years experience didnt realise arm was broken for a week !!! Picked myself up and rode 50kms day I broke it(was kinda hard twisting throttle though)

Hi helenoftroy you are lucky, you have some beautiful roads down there, I was down in the central lakes recently and hired a harley for a trip up the haast pass. What an experience!!

Will have to experience the rally thing at least once I reckon.....just dont know if Im ready yet- its a bit scarey:eek5:

Its ok, we'll look out for you- we you won't make you camp with all the riffraff:innocent:
I take mainly easy roads now, just to keep the cleaning down on the Guz, the DR is up for grabs now.
