View Full Version : If someone goes past...

I had a rare moment not long ago... I had a thought!

When we are at the track, it could be said some of us do a lot of talkin ourselves up, and only really stop once we are actually on the track. So if someone has been trash talkin, and then manages to get past a person, but falls off a couple corners later, do you consider that person faster than who he or she over took?

He or she was clearly quicker at the point of overtaking, but was pushing beyond his or her limits to do it.

I'd say if said prson crashed as a consequence of the overtake then the answer is 'no'.

Trackday huh? ...so were both parties aware of the intent/competition?

What the hell kind of question is that? Track days are a race!!! For the love of god man, on track=beat everyone you can!

this is my take on it... trackday is raceday for those that don't race.... They we're quicker when they passed ya, but they binned, you passed them YOUR clearly the winner!!!

Is this thread about people with very small penises wanting to prove something to others who they (the VSP contingent) think actually give a shit?

If so, buy a hoodie and a car that goes "chur".

It might be, if ya dont like it, piss off and bother someone else.

It's the sort of thing that comes up in semi boozed conversation at parties, how is a problem for us to talk about it on here?

No problem at all.

I noted that this latest effort seems to be nothing more than a spillover from another thread, but this time with the addition of a "poll" designed to elicit fuck knows what. Perhaps the two threads should be merged? If they are indeed nothing more than a "semi-boozed conversation", then perhaps they should be relocated to Pointless Drivel? Should being passed by a girl directly contribute to somebody boosting their post count?

Oh FFS Hitcher.

Just because its a bit slow doesn't mean it has no worth (its a slow morning). Just consider it a trip report that is about three corners long that finishes in an accident.

If they talk the talk, they need to back it up by walking the walk.
Coming off moments later is not a good endorsement for this.

Of course they are not faster.

Fast is speed right? Speed is distance divided by time. If they fall off, then the distance they covered is less than someone who does not fall off. If a session lasted an hour*, and they fell off after 30 minutes and covered 50km in those 30 minutes, they averaged 50km/h over the hour long session. They spent 30 minutes doing 0/kmh and 30 minutes doing 100km/h.

So, if a schooolgirl does 51km in an hour long trackday session, they are faster than whoever fell off at 30 minutes.

And that is one way how you gets beat by a schoolgirl.**

* We wish
** A schoolgirl passed me on her RS125 one day, she was faster than me and I didn't fall off. That is another way.

There are 4 groups. Slow, average, fast and crashed. You can't belong to more than one group. If you talk yourself into a group that you dont belong it makes it difficult for people to respect you.

Clearly they got to be faster and stupid cos thats why they binned it. Or they could have been avoiding smacking into the arss end of somebody else and bailed out. Track days are for going faster without the tought of being pinged by the cops, If everybody is sensible nobody needs to come off, no your limits and ride to them. The only thing I fear at track days is somebody who's not experinced enough on over taking on corners sliding me off.

Whats this He or She thing. Are you being PC, or did Vikki give you the learn?

Is this assuming he or she hadn't passed that same person earlier in the day? If it's just a result of big balls, no brain, then I'd say NO it isn't faster. If it's a case of being lapped again and that person just happens to bin it, then yeah YOU'RE SLOW!

Am I ever PC? It is relevent here, but no, Vicki has not given me the learn since we rode to Hamilton for DSS3s funeral, she has however given quite a few guys the learn, so it's a he/she kinda question.
