a two bros that vibrated itself to bits? Both baffles in mine are jangling in the bottom of the can, but I know from the last time I repacked it that its an easy fix if you're keen?

The baffle is held in place at each end by four "fingers" of alloy. Enough stoppies and the fingers snap and said baffle flops around in the can body. If its the first time its broken then you probably still have the top and two side fingers so the baffle can be propped on the top finger. It wont be in the best position for flow through but it will work. Now, if like me you couldnt help yourself and did more stoppies, you now have broken top and bottom fingers.
This is where a friendly engineer comes in handy. I'm about to strip mine to repack it again and while I'm at it, I'll take both ends off and get my mate to weld some alloy fingers in to hold the baffle again. Experimental but I reckon it will work and heaps cheaper than a new can.
Have you split a can apart before? If not, its a piece of piss, just drill out the rivets with the right diameter drill and pop the ends off. I used heat resistant gasket seal when I put it back together. I think you can get the packing from supercheap (I got mine from mt eden mcycles when I was in akl last time)
Hope it helps, ask me anything if unclear

sweet as....but yours looks different in that its a round fitting...but I'd still take it to an engineer and see if he can work the magic. You dont have anything to lose!
