Just saw this today on MNZ web site, WOW, they pushed this through fast. Kinda cool though, I really miss the sound of two strokes at full noise (not puttering along like mine.....)

250cc 2 strokes to run with the 4 stroke 250's you got to be joking!!! the 2 strokes will get the hole shot every time. bugger ! might have to go back to a 2 stroke.

Seems like an odd decision, ok you get more traction with a 4/ but weight, power and torque are all in the 2/'s favour.
May have something to do with predicting where the manufacturers are heading. 2/'s being phased out due to emissions laws and the continuing R&D on 4/'s expected to gradually close the performance gap?

was talking to a guy who was saying if someone one a 250 2 stroke starts winning alot they get pushed to the open class.
if you ride a 250 2 stroke you can still choose to race in the open class.

heyy Guys, i was the person that put this forward for discussion back in January, i did a lot of research into lap times and race times, i beleive that 250F's will dominate the 250 class, most people will ride them quicker, as for the starts thier will be a small advntage for the 2t's but not as big as everyone thinks, Look at the desnations, 250F's won a moto and villipoto and townley was 3rd in the 1st lap in a feild on 20 450's
Most club level races are run all in at the moment anyway, so i do not see how this effects racing thier,
i am still fighting to get National Cup series going in the nationals, with points counting from all rounds, (not an offical title) to help riders who are not quick enough for National Classes but still want to be envolved in the MX champs,
i read about it a while ago here: http://www.rmcc.co.nz/article.php?id=208
(PS: 2000th post right here) :)

fuck your kidding if you think a 250 2strk has an advantage over a 250f,unless your bubba of course,2stroks should be in sepperate class from the
4s. the roost from the 4s sucks hard.

thier is not enough riders or time to run 4 classes, their 250 class got down to under 20 riders this year at some rounds of the nationals,
if you put them in the 450's they were on a hiding to nothing, at least they have a chance agasint a 250F, i agree most riders will ride a 250F better, but if you are fit, and practice you can ride a 2t jsut as quick
