What does everyone use for lap timing at practice?
So far my main options seem to be
1. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Electronics/auction-101765103.htm?p=1
2. http://www.aimsports.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=28
3. http://www.veypor.com/vir.html
What do others here use, what is availiable (I would rather throw my money in a local direction)
Cheers

You could always sell your busa and get an Aprilia - they have them built in. Oh, wait . . . what was your last bike again? :dodge:

Looks good, but unfortunatly, its not due into production for a while yet, too long for me to wait, cheers
Actually, p/t's asside - is this for your 636? Don't they have a laptimer built in?

yes it is for the 636, they have a basic lap timer, but all of the standard electrics have or are being removed.
Looking for something a bit more, so i can analise laps etc

Agreed, but have a chat to them anyhow, they might have some prototypes for you to test.

yes but the last thing on your mind when looking for your braking marker is remembering to hit the laptimer button.

I looked at getting one of those lap timers too, great thing to have but I was suprised at how pricey they were

I have used the AIM system on prior racebikes, and am planning on getting a few more for the new bikes. quick easy to read, storage of past laps, big display. does all I want and the Price is reasonable.

Agreed, but I'm merely offering alternatives. It all depends on how serious he is getting about it, and he did mention this was for use "at practice".
Admittedly I'm not racing, but I use a marker on the track for my lap timer where I tend to be accelerating and in between gear changes, so hitting the button isn't an issue. Your laps don't always have to be timed from the start/finish line, particularly during practice I would have thought.
Or, if he's wanting to hold out until the one Delphinus mentioned comes available, he could just have a trusted member of his pit crew timing him from the sidelines.
