After a number of frantic texts from my mum, have got the information that there has been a fatal motorcycle accident in Paraparaumu along marine parade.
All i know is that it was a bike on ute crash, and the bike and dead biker were covered with a sheet waiting for the plice to come.
Thoughts go out to the family of the dead rider, and kapiti guys please post a message in here so we know your ok. Marine parade is just off my street and Selwyns (sels1)

AdvertisementA 49-year-old Paraparaumu motorcyclist died today in a collision in the Kapiti Coast town.
Sergeant Ron Walker said the man was travelling south on Marine Parade when his bike and a northbound ute turning right collided.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The area is a 50kmh zone and Mr Walker said there was no indication at this stage that either party had been travelling over that speed.
The 59-year-old ute driver was shocked but not injured, Mr Walker said. His one passenger was also uninjured.
The road was closed and traffic was diverted for three hours.
Mr Walker said police did not expect to release the dead man's name until tomorrow.

Mr Walker said police did not expect to release the dead man's name until tomorrow.
So then, neither shall we speculate on his name, until then.
Condolences to all concerned.....

I did an anonymous drive by your house and a quick look at the site for any tiger pieces. Wonder who it is, but agreed, who it is doesn't take away how bad it is

I went for a ride up to Palmerston today and just got back about 30 mins ago. As soon as I walked through the door my wife told me about the accident. I didn't know the person but my wife knows the family through her work. Sooo sad as the fallen rider has a young family.
I don't want to tell my wife that neither vehicle was speeding as that'll make her worry even more when I'm out and about.
Condolences to family and those that knew him.
RIP

He is OK - 37 year old male from P'ram, riding a XJ750, by the looks of it. Rider has a few bruises and abrasions; the XJ is toast. Looking like the ute driver will be facing charges.

There's heartbreak for the family and friends. They all have my sympathy.
Again, it's a sad fact that us bikers usually come off second best. We all know that but still keep on riding. I had a self-induced prang a few months ago and the car I hit wasn't marked. A moment of inattention from me but I was lucky. We all hang by a thread for much of the time.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the motor cyclist killed in Paraparumu on Wednesday. Lets us not forget about the guy in the ute who was also involved in this terrible accident and how he must be feeling regardlesse of whos fault it was. It is neva nice hearing about fellow motorcyclists lossing their lives nor being injured and my thoughts and prays are with the family and friends at this tragic loss. RIP.
The bike in the kapiti accident was a Silver Triumph Daytona 675 according to a workmate at our shop - he rides a Ducati something
