Still visiting a few Korean websites from time to time to check on the riding scene.
I Saw some action photos of riders on the Cheon Wang Jae hill road - the S.Korea equivalent of the Rimutakas and one of my old favourite weekend haunts.
Little traffic, two lanes all the way up and one lane down, in the weekends the road becomes a bit of a race track and, inevitably it comes to grief; somebody ends up biffing it at some stage.
Check the pictures: some nice bikes and riding action, but what about those shots??? There's some nice photography in thar...
Enjoy~

Nice pics, but what's with the race-bike on public roads in the 2nd shot?
Yeah nice shots K, but has that fella really got a Ghost Rider decal on the side of his R1? mmm.........ok.

Yeah, those riders are so cheesy. Everyone thinks they're Ghost-rider over there.
Thing is, although they all regularly get their knees down, they're not all that quick (neither am I for that matter).
The Korean road rider's attitude is definitely "Style over substance"
...as long as you look good doing it, who cares???
Oh yeah, you'll often see guys take their race bikes out too - no plates, reg, whateva. There just isn't that great a police presence outside the main cities and if you do get spotted, well, it's not that hard to lose a 1.6 litre Hyundai...

God damn, 1.6L Hyundais as police cars?! Why haven't the NZ Police thought of that? They'd make excellent patrol cars, it would save the Police millions! The fact that it'd save us a few bob too is entirely irrelevant... :innocent:
I'm the other way around, substance over style. I can't afford to give a crap how I look riding... I ride an old single cylinder 250cc bike but wear full leathers and have a dark tinted visor. I can't get my knee down and frankly don't really care, I know I can get the old NZ to boogy. I'm sure I look pretty stupid to some people, though.
