Hi folks,

Does anybody know of any freeware type database software that I can get over the Net? Haven't searched extensively but am looking for something to make up a database for insurance / property record pursposes. I've also just scored a digi camera so something that can handle graphics would be good too.

Thanks in advance.

MySQL http://www.mysql.com/
Postgress http://www.postgresql.org/
all open-source software (you can download and use it for free)

A good place to look is Freshmeat.net

mysql is the way to go. Very easy to make a front end for it in pretty much any of the popular programming languages.

This site uses MySQL. I'm very impressed with the PHP/MySQL combination. There is heaps of free PHP software on the net that also uses MySQL for it's database.

Yip, PHP/MySQL is the standard combination for a reason, just can't fault it.
