How many of you have done some custom work on your METRIC CRUISER.

my m109 would be one of the few in this country to have custom work done on it, 240wide trye converted to 280 wide tyre, lowered 3",mirrors,grips,wing floor boards, rims u chromed[powder coat],wet weather speakers and 100watt amp, power commander,2"ext risers, tank cover, side mount number plate, custom seat being made, and exhust bebaffled, custom paint to be done in a few weeks, all in all spent more time working on the bike than riding it, but thats what i wanted it for, i only ride this beast one or two days a month,sh....it will have to look for a new project next winter, the biggest problem in getting parts for metric custom parts in new zealand, market is to small for cruisers, all we here about is sports bikes, what the hell can you customize on these , oh i no a new sticker:rockon:

New pipe , resprayed, tank, front guard, side covers etc. Have ordered sissy bar & screen, looking into foot ramps for the pillion .
Agree with blane that the market here is a bit small but the bits are easy enough to get if you don't mind the wait when getting them from overseas.

Running yes, finished no. Got a bit of work to do but still having trouble with tool usage, not strong enough yet.

Well I'm about to customise the shit out of mine, ordered new pipes (V&H Straightshots) and a whole loads of other stuff too. All from www.cruisercustomizing.com. Cheap as and good service too.

For example, if you buy V&H Straighshots here from Colemans for example, you will pay $800 before you even talk about getting them fitted, but if you buy from cruiser customizing then you are looking at $550 incl delivery to your door. :Punk:

Well... I [I]have[I] just ordered a set of lower deflectors for mine from Value Accessories in the US... should be here in 7-10 days... and a leather tank protector from Bikesport...:sunny:

Not sure how "customising" these are, but the C50T is just SUCH a good looking thing, it's hard to know how to improve it!:innocent:

There are a couple other 'nine riders' around too - Aro if he still has his, and a chap Kevin who I have met a few times now. I am sure a cruiser ride could have quite a decent turn-out.

Sounds like a plan... maybe chuck it in the calendar or however it is they manage to get the regular events to show up - maybe a front page thing to get the first ride event off the ground?

Any chance of some pics? For what it's worth, I like both (cruiser and sports), and I'd have both if money allowed. There's plenty you can change on a sports bike. Funnily enough, some of its the same type of thing: Power commander, debaffle exhaust, risers, etc.

The 'jet kit' will probably be new pilot and main jets for your carbs, and possibly new needles and shims. The intent is to tweak the characteristics of the fuel delivery to the cylinders (controlled by the carbs) for better performance across the rev range. An upgraded filter usually allows more air to get into the mix so the fuel/air mix of the retune can be fully exploited and tuned to best advantage.

A stage 1 kit is a general tune-up and pep-up. You can get stage 3 kits for some bike which are proper race kits - they are basically designed to deliver max performance at race revs, but tend to be shite for around town type riding.

Absolutely right. when you change the exhaust and air filter like you are about to, your bike will run lean. You will need a bigger main jet in the carb to sort this out. I'm impressed that they include a new jet.

Doesn't come with the pipes (full system by the way not just slip-ons) but they do have a kit aviilable.
