HELP!! need to find someone in christchurch or south island that can correct the wrong, yes I have some bent forks that need to be ironed streight can someone help, other wise i will be stuck going around in every decreasing circles, thanks.

Can't suggest anyone, only good bods I know in chch are Dirt action. But they would know if they can't do it.

You need a decent engineer with a press & obviously the forks need to be apart before you start. The more modern they are the harder as they get very thin & tend to deform, ovalise. If there is a crease then it is all over. you set up in some V blocks on the press & press just a bit further than straight & they spring back a little.

I bent my forks once in an accident.

My dad had them straighted for a doz beer but Im not sure where he had it done. I will ask him tomorrow if I remember.

I was lucky with mine, I didnt have to take the forks apart to have them straightened. I only had to take them off the bike. The bend was sufficiently far up the forks that I didnt have to buy new fork seals etc.
