Well I finally took my XR250 around Red Rocks. I went with my mate on his DR-350.
The XR went great. I noticed going in the wet sand, you really had to keep the speed up and the revs high to keep momentum.
We had a little drag-race and there was nothing between our bikes.
So really happy with the XR. I rode the DR and found it had way better low-end (not surprisingly) but didn't handle as well.
Since I'm still off riding bikes (on the road) I've still got to get my confidence back and still had the epilepsy in the back of my mind while riding yesterday. I didn't think it would be an issue only riding off-road but it was. Most likely take a few rides.
Sorry no pics but next time will take a lot.

Well done Chris, it's a great idea to get rid of the cobwebs until you're back on the Guzzi again, you may even find that it's an entirely new addiction!

Nice one Chris. Onya mate.
Remember, little steps. Don't go and hurt yourself pushing too hard.

Cheers Si, definitely doing that.
Funny how easy it is to lose the confidence when you haven't ridden for a while. At least I didn't have any cages (well, okay a couple of slow 4WD's ;) ) to contend with.

On ya mate:D Keep up the good work. As others have said, just take it one day at a time and enjoy the 2 wheeled buzz:yes:

Good news indeed mate, just go easy on yourself and all will be right in time.

This is probably sucking eggs, but I assume you wear full armour and brief your riding buddies on what to do if(heaven forbid) things go bung due to your illness?

No not at all sucking eggs.
I've got the off-road helmet, boots, gloves etc and am about to buy some body-armour.
Yes, after riding around the other day, it did make me feel it is more than necessary. I'll make sure Mrs has it all too for when she comes out on the DR.

I hope it didnt come across wrong, just trying to ensure theres never a thread entitle "Nudemetalz goes down"
I'm stoked that you can still ride something while the road bikes are off the menu:D

Thanks Scorpy, and I knew exactly what you meant, Storm. Thanks for the concern. Riding the XR is a lot of fun and I at least know that it's a heck of a lot safer than on-road if I do have a seizure of some kind. I never go riding alone and always take a cell with me.
