I know someone that has one, has just spent nearly 2 g's on an internal overhaul and then bought a new car and might sell the bike and get a new one next summer. I'll let him know there's people looking.

Hi "Oldguy", yeah they don't seem to come up too often, that SP1 on TM looks really tidy but I would prefer the SP2..There are plenty about in the States and with the current exchange rate it could be worth shipping a couple back, still a hassle though.

Hi "Pancakes" that would be great if you could let him know, although I'm a fussy buyer and would be a little concerned that it needed work on the internals. Honda usually go forever.. :o)

It's not unknown for the SP range to develop gearbox faults, particularly 2nd gear.

If you do import from the US, don't forget to get a left dipping headlight replacement.

It wasn't broken, just getting the cam chain's done and go the tensioners and almost everything else that can possibly wear in there done while it was open, he loves it. Just don't think he figured on his dream car landing in the country quite so soon. Will let him know Monday, it's pretty tidy, Yoshi pipes, the screen was a bit faded so he replaced that when he first got it. Will get back to you guys then.

If your friend did indeed pay for cam chains being checked, they have been ripped off.

However, the regular Honda VTR1000 has camchains and suchlike, you sure your friend does not have one of those?

I could have a crack at exporting one if you like - never done it yet though.

What'd you get in the end?

I got offered an '04 Ducati 999 BP, 4000km, as new cond, for a price I couldn't refuse...it should arrive from the deep south this time next week, hopefully still in unmarked condition....
It's funny really, when the 999 was first released I hated the design and thought the lead designer should have been shot but over the last few years the look has grown on me like a wort.....It will be my first Duke so I'll be interested to see how the reliability it is..

Funny you say that, I really would have prefered a 999 in black but I could only find one for sale, it was a 999s and priced too high, also i wanted a Bi Posta and it was a mono....so beggars can't be choosers...fire engine red will have to do...:scooter:
