View Full Version : Canterbury: Three Gorges Ride Sunday 17 June
miSTa
11th June 2007, 21:32
In honour of getting a new bike and with it being Mrs S's day off work I reckon a ride to the Ashley Gorge, Waimak Gorge, and the Rakaia Gorge is in order with a pie and a pint at Hororata pub just to finish the day.
Anyone keen for a gentle tootle around the gorges leaving 10:30am from BP Marshlands Road?
If it's pissing down with rain (which it won't be) we'll try for the weekend after.

Well I might be keen... 10.30, would that make return in time for this house warming event 1.30pm?
The weather to should be like you say, unless that front storms in faster than they predict

I had the top score for choir boy as well (28 I think) but it expires after like 2 months so you should be able to get the top after two months if you get 2nd place.

Well I am sure to be in on this ride. If the weather permits (not that I care what the weather is), I am guessing that ya's will be crossing over the Ashley river bridge in Rangiora to head toward the first gorge, and if that is the case, then I will sit on the side of the road astride me metal, with an eye out for ya's.
At the corner of Cones Road (http://www.wises.co.nz/l/Canterbury/Rangiora/Cones+Road/#c/2l1b3/67jhn/2/) and Milton Ave seeing as I am just over in Coldstream Road

I think (in fact I know it did) a V11 threw a stone up on Highway one, got me, wack!!!!, right on the knee... :nono: that did not hurt one bit.
A bit like when ya ask Adam B about the 1098 "Its not bad" mmmm I am thinkin understatement... humble he is though. Park that bugger by a speed camera, and it would still get a ticket!!!!
Yeah it was a great ride, chilly and all, did not see anything above 8 degrees I dont think.
I got home and the first thought was a hot winters pudding....
At the Hororata were of course the Ulyseys people's, But it was inside that Mr S truley fit in, that was with the retirees, out for thier Sunday lunch...
The road was gritty as said, but all enjoyable.
Mr S got the seasons wrong, and most of the places we stopped were in the shade....It is winter, and the sun is our friend!!!!
Bloody gud though Big S for gettin' this ride on the road. En-joyed heaps.
Ran a bit longer than thought to be able to make it to the house warmin' at dyers, :shit: catch up sum time.
