Just found this forum and thought i should join it and say hi to you all......
I am emigrating at the end of July to New Zealand from the UK and intend to race in NZ once we get settled into NZ life.
I have been a 600cc Supersport and overall champion in one of the UK's main club series and won races at most Uk circuits as well as riding in the BSB series.
Not exactly sure what the set up is of racing in NZ yet but with a bit of luck i'll be lining up against a few of you before to much longer.

At the moment we have the chance to live in either Auckland or Wellington. We spent a mad cap week looking around the Auckland area and drove as far north as the Bay of Islands but we didn't get the chance to go down to Wellington.
We have for now rented a house in the Auckland area, Cockle beach to be exact for a period of three months. We plan to travel down to Wellington in the first week we land and then decide which is for us.
At the moment i'm thinking Auckland is maybe best in terms of any plans for racing but on what we've read and been told Wellington may suit us better for living.
I was very lucky while we were in NZ a few weeks back to get offered a ride on a CBR1000RR at Pukekohe and despite being under very very very strict orders from the misses to take things very very slowly i enjoyed the place a lot.
We land in the country 21st July so not long to wait............:scooter:
welcome to kb hope you enjoy nz also look at www.sportsbike.co.nz another good site :dodge:

Welcome.
I'm Auckland biased (despite being born in Wellington) and will encourage you to settle there. The hampton Downs racetrack isn't far off (not far from Auckland) and the Taupo track is only 3.5-4 hours away.
Come to the North Shore!

Are you talking about the 1000 i rode or do you know me and my CBR600RR's?
Actually thinking along the lines of the R6 for racing in NZ despite my love of the CBR600's and just need to find a way to get hold of some when we get there. Cheaper the better and was mentioned that Yamaha do a race support scheme

LOL just looked at my post again and realised.............
May be tempted back to the odd road thrash but gave that up in the UK so long ago for the right reasons.
The roads in NZ certainly look inviting though...........:shit:

Anyone here know a guy by the name of John Hanna who rides a CBR1000rr on trackdays at Pukekohe?
Also met his American mate Russel who rides an R1.

Hook up with the right riding mates and you'll see some sweet roads and scenery for sure. But even if you cruise off on your own you'll find something don't worry.
