Greetings any current or past owners of 2003-04 Gixxer 1000's.
What are the bad points to look out for while test riding or shopping for one?
The main reasons for picking it is that it is the cheapest light weight modern litre bike on the market and should make a decent track tool.
Only sat on WINJA's bike, never ridden one so what are they like??
Thanks in advance,
JSG

The only bad points are that a youngfellah like you's gonna want a constant supply of clean underwear.
There are no bad points.

There are no bad points.
As with any second hand bike, especially ones owned/abused by the masses look carefully at the steering head bearings as they can wear with wheelie abuse.

Not much problem, one thing that be good idea to do tho, is throw a radial m/c to go with the radial mounted calpiers, only real thing we noticed with our k4 was the brakes(still good, but could be better with a minor change)
Other than nothing really work, apart form normal abused bike/crashed

You been see ol'WINJ - maybe you can get some pointers bout the bike from him, perhaps ask Crazy Steve if you bump into him too.

Radial master cylinder, anyone from a k4+ 600/750 or k5+ 1000 will work, or could just go the brembo route, that what i was planning if i keep the 1k.
Another than that just ride the thing, and check for normal abuse from stunting (alot bigger over there), and crash/repair damage)
