Black/Gold 1990 ZXR250A
Great little bike, was my first and was easy to learn on. She has great handling and is very quick (1 of the 2 fastest 4 stroke 250s). Happy to cruise at 100 or faster all day, quick to overtake and has a max speed of around 180.
Unlike many other ZXRs she has not gone around the clock or had accident damage covered up.
Cosmetics:
She has some scratches on the left side from where I lowsided at around 30km/h. Only cosmetic damage, shop checked forks and straight as an arrow. Also has a few paint chips and cracks around indicator on the right side where my girl friend reversed into to me.
Pretty much what you would expect from a bike this age that hasn't been repainted to hide its history.
Mechanics:
She is generally in good condition and has given me no real problems. Only things i know are wrong is the front disk has a slight warp. This is only noticable at slow speeds and doesn't make any difference at high speeds so i never bothered to replace it. Also the radiator looses a bit of water on longer rides, think there may be a blockage somewhere. Shop checked it out for trade in and said there were no problems with motor.
Had cam chain tensioner, oil and filter change, air filter cleaned and new drive chain approx 6 months ago and recently had fork seals done and spark plugs checked and cleaned.
Would love to keep her but have brought a 650 adventure bike and don't have the money or space to keep both
