There have been a few historical comments on the forum on these tyres, but I'm not entirely sure what the general opinion is.

Would D208s be considered suitable for fast road riding, track days, etc?

I'm well aware that they're not the sexy sticky tyre du jour, but I'm interested in hearing from anyone who's tried them in anger on a sprotsbike and can comment on their performance.

I had D208s on my RF900 and never had any issues with them, apart from the rear not lasting that long (~5000km). DEATH_INC used to use them on his bike (GSXR750), he tends to frequent the SportsBike forums these days if you want to ask his opinion.

If you are talking about the latest D208rr's they are a very good tyre. Super sticky and fine for track days. Dont expect much more than 4-5000kms out of them if you ride hard. They are a much better tyre for track days and fast road than the Dunlop Qualifier. They are also quite reasonable in the wet.

I've got a set of 208GP's That have seen about 3 track days. They are good at absorbing bumps compared to Racetechs. PM me if your interested in them as I was about to put them up on Trade Me. They are 120/70 and 180/55.
