Well it ain't a motorbike but just picked up a Toyota Townace Noah for my Daughter.
1997 (ex-Japan)
9,000k's (AA Certified)
Alloys
ABS
Mobility Hoist
Mint Condition, inside and out.
$24,395 with 1 years registration thrown in and NZ approved wheelchair restraints.
Just could not let it go....too good to miss.
Then I call Nzi.
Me - Its a disability vehicle
Nzi - What will it be used for?
Nzi - Do you know what the hoist is worth?
Me - No, it is a special disability vehicle?
Nzi - Hold on a minute.
Hard work...but got there in the end.

Lol those sort of bureaucracies never know what to do when something is even slightly out of the ordinary. It doesn't fit their script.

Nzi - Who was driving your vehicle?
Nzi - When did it happen?
Me - Today, about 10 minutes ago
Nzi - Have you obtained a quote for the damage.
It is not their fault, they are just taught to follow questions.

Actually, that remark has got my gander up. I have a niece in a wheelchair, she puts up with a bunch of shite on a daily basis, lazy buggers in H/C parks, people staring and she USED to have a ramp. Then she progressed to a 'lift' and now she's got her own car. For people that don't have 100% mobility NZ is a hassle, make no mistake.
If you're such a clever prick why don't you use your talents to design a mobility scooter that can take the disabled where they want to go, whenever, and at low cost.
Do that and I will bow to you.

Tell you what she drives that wheelchair better than most cagers....
The Patriot in Devonport, she has to drive down side which is quite narrow and there are 2 steps so Richard, owner, has provided a sheet of wood for the 2 steps and Nats drives up.....it's cool...........oh should I be admiting I take a 4 year old to the pub!

Did a part x and if you saw the car you would see why I nabbed it..........engine not as smooth as my Mazda MPV V6 but will not guzzle fuel and is more robust...

You need to talk to auckland uni engineering students, they all have do desgin that as a first or 2nd year project. A ramp would be ok for a motorised scoot depending on how powerful etc not sure how a hand push chair would work, I was thinking about how once in the car it sort of locks into the drivers or passengers place, so there chair is the car chiar also, then all the controlls would be remade so they can use there hands not there feet. Unsure on the safety in a car accident tho....
