Yeah, well, I like the K7 dual exhausts.
Guarantee the new bus will have more 'edge' styling, less 'blob'. Betcha it looks nicer than the ZX14.

so.. it's going to just catch the zx14 then and not smash it outta the water? new engine setup so mods will take a little while to come through, can't use old turbo systems straight onto it without mucking around for dragging setups blah blah blah... look forwards to seeing the numbers. interesting how they making a bigger deal about the b-king than the bus..... guess bus is further away though.
all the 6 cyl rumors were incorrect then.. would have loved to seen a 6 cyl busa :d

NC4r - there were systems out before the zx14 was offically released, some special part manfucators often get bikes to get parts ready for market place quickly.
Rumour as it the 6 cylinder will be coming, but in theory it wouldn't be a busa if it was a 6 cylinder would it? GSX (one of those stands for 4 cylinder)

I don't think anyone is ever going to acuse the ZX14 of being a good looking bike, but I have to say they have a certian presence on the road, kind of angry and don't piss me off look to them. I quite like them in electric blue but not a big fan of the black ones which is what the '07 R1's look best in.

First picture of 08 busa thats been released
Its taken from the suzuki 2008 order book, by looks of they little scared to hit the 200hp mark meant to be 198 @ crank with that 1330cc motor
As a whole it doesn't look as radical different thani though, it still does have that
hayabusa look, that alot of people though would change.
The USA dealer show is on right now, so more pics should be out over next few days of the up coming models/colours.

Struth Cajun those pics 'deserve their own thread!'
My sourses in the US have stated that the 2008 Bus has the same 1340cc motor developing 198hp @ the crank!! new swingarm, same frame, radial brakes, new dash, 3 pos map selction..etc and will cost US$11,800.
Not my cup of Milo but would be dead keen to take one for a test ride.
I take a view that we live in a special time - Bus and ZX14 are a breed of their own. Both bikes kick ass. And the feeling you get when you pull up next to a 300K Porsche is absolutely priceless.
Lets enjoy them before they're gone forever.

Yep everything i have heard is a 1330 not 1340, but might be
198 @ crank of course, just wish they would have got those 2 extra horses.
shows you suzuki build it right in the first place is can still use the same frame after coming up 8 years, and of course all the normal fruit,
Just waiting for some good pics, have 4-5 people in tauranga alone, who are waiting for pics before they commit to an upgrade.(father-in-law included)

looking thru those spec sheet its still pretty heavy @ 220kgs though that they would drop it around 190-200 (11pounds heavyer than the zx14) and it put on 3kgs compared to the 07 model
55mm longer than 07
seat height stays the same

IMHO Cajun - 220 dry isnt too bad for a bike of this type. However take your point wondering what it would have been like if it was lighter. It might give the 14 a slight advantage down the strip.
If they've lowered tank height then its possible the tank may be a little wider which seems to be the case judging by the pics. Should be interesting to see how it handles with the slight changes in weight distribution. The bike looks big through the hips! and those pipes must weigh a ton each. Again - it'll be interesting to see what feels like with them off.
Given that the bike hasnt gone through too many changes Id expect ego rights will be based on how easy it will be to mod with a wealth of after market parts available to set up as a drag bike etc...
Nevertheless - looking forward to a ride. Cant wait

Somebody at Suzuki is really smart. After nine years, its franchise model, the 1300 Hayabusa—100,000-plus unit sales and counting—needed an update. The Kawasaki ZX-14 had stolen some of the Big ’Busa’s thunder. Wisely, Suzuki did not overreact and has just shown the world the new-for-2008 Hayabusa—which is much like the old ’Busa, only more so. Smart.
New Busa
New Hayabusa. How much did we like the old ’Busa? “The power is so sweet, its well of torque so deep, that the mind-bending acceleration always at hand—regardless of rpm—seems completely effortless. Twisting the throttle is one of the most satisfying experiences in motorcycling,” we wrote in 2005. Should be even better now.
There will be no “New Coke Syndrome” screw-up here, Suzuki fans. (Remember Ducati’s recent troubles with its 916-series replacement, the 999?)
Quick glance at the new bike shows the same silhouette as before, but ’Busa buffs will immediately note some subtle differences. This bike has spent hours in the wind tunnel, the results showing in the new headlight, more smoothly contoured fairing and the double-bubble windscreen that’s a half-inch higher than before—factor in a lowered fuel tank, and now it’s easier to crawl under the paint at the dragstrip or flat-out across Your Own Private Bonneville Salt Flat.
Out back, no turnsignal stalks; the blinkers now live in their own speed pods in the tailsection. The latter appears to have been stretched for cleaner passage through the air; while wheelbase remains unchanged at 58.5 inches, the bike’s overall length has grown 2.3 inches to 86.6, fender tip to fender tip.
New Busa
More speed thrills from Suzuki: The B-King is finally here, powered by the new Hayabusa’s 1340cc motor. See the photo gallery below for more on the 2008 Suzukis.
Hidden behind the new bodywork is the same basic mountain-motor inline-Four, but with some speed-demon tweaks. First a 2mm bore job (now 81.0 x 65.0mm bore/stroke) takes displacement from 1299cc up to 1340. Compression ratio goes from 11.0:1 to 12.5:1, a significant boost. Now we add titanium valves, shotpeened chrome-moly connecting rods and a refined fuel-injection system for what Suzuki claims is “12 percent higher performance.”
Which means…? Well, we know the new bike won’t go faster than 186 mph, the agreed-upon top-speed limit. But a 12 percent bump in horsepower—going by our 2006 Hayabusa testbike—would yield a stonking 179 hp at the rear wheel! A similar jump in torque would mean 110 foot-pounds. Both numbers top those churned out by our last ZX-14 Kawi (170 hp/104 ft.-lbs.). No word in the early press materials as to what kind of electronic hocus-pocus (if any) will be used to keep the new ’Busa from becoming a human fly-swatter at the dragstrip, but certainly the ZX-14’s production-record 9.78-second pass is in danger.
Welcome to Speed Wars 2008!

I'm dissapointed they didn't take a risk and make a bigger change to the styling.
Is the 'busa going to be like those models that seem to have a never-ending model run till finally it dies in a splutter because one day everyone is going to wake up and realise it looks dated?
Yamaha effectively replaced the FJ with the FJR, can't Suzuki do the same?
'Function before form' I hear you say, fine, but you have to be able to look at it in the garage and say "Nice" every time you look at it.
And that seat hump, gah! Can't they do better?

Still, perhaps in the metal it will look better. The current ones don't look as fat as they do in the pictures, perhaps the new one will fare better too.
