The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, England is due to reopen to the public on 1st December 2004.
Around £20 million has been spent on rebuilding the museum. The museum did not have a sprinkler system at the time of the fire but £1m has now been spent on installing one.
Five hundred bikes and 80% of the building was destroyed. The destruction could have been worse because scores of bikes were pushed to safety by staff and visitors to the conference centre.
