Time to move up.

Last Year (cos I'd never riden a bike before) I did my Basic Handling and passed (July 06). Now since the bike I've been riding is the pits, I'm going to sit my Theory Test in order for me to ride something like the Yamaha Scorpio, GN250 type of bike - this is not the reason I'm posting !

1. Is my Basic Handling Cert still valid?
2. Is the Theory test questions based on the Motorcycle Road Rules or the same test when I got my NZ licence?

Cheers in advance, the posts on this forum are the best you guys  .

Im not too shure about how long the basic handling cert lasts.
But the theory test will be a scratch test, same as car licence but with a page of bike specific questions.

hope that helps

hey your basic handling should be sweet, and your test consists of 10 questions based on motorbikes (eg What must you wear at all times while riding a motorbike) then 20 (or something) other questions that are just general eg "what do you do when you get to a stop sign" lol:yes:

IIRC the BHS cert has an expiry date on it; have a look. I think there is a limit, probably either 3 or 6 months.

Its 60 Days from memory, You could always try sit your theory they will check your BHS before you sit it and probably let you off :).

I did my BHS test last some weeks ago and the guy taking it said I had to do the scratchy test and apply for license within 60 days... so you will probably have to do it again - tho it isnt difficult.
