Another young hard charging Aussie in the mix....good to see.

Yeah the greedy pricks generally only let you bet on the winner. You can sometimes ask your local branch to phone head quarters and ask to place a one off bet....depends who you get on the day from what I've seen.

bet me too it, i read it on the Yamaha website saying that he has been released only because he was drafted in... would have been good to have him in WSS for a bit longer to help Yamaha fend of the Honda's, but it will be good to see how he goes in MotoGP.

It will be very interesting to see how he goes,I have my doubts about some aspects of the bike, De puniet,Jacque & the test pilot all get thrown off the thing on a regular basis,it seems to have power there or there abouts

I'm gonna stick a few on Hopkins and Vermeulen.....but realistically, I think Rossi will do the bizz here.
I wouldn't mind betting West will throw it down the road trying too hard.

I would guess that if he rides with the same ham fisted style he is using in super sport he will discover the Kawasakis high side very quickly.

That's a good time for Stoner too, especially given he doesn't really like the track. Great start by West! here's hoping they have a dry track for race day. :scooter:

Huh where'd you get that from? I read that he likes the track, this is where he had is first road race and first gp a few years ago. He actually was fastest in FP1 and set the fastest time all day.
Heres a curve ball, how bout the world chump for the win??

"CASEY STONER, World Championship leader on 140 points
"We are still learning and going forward, always gaining experience with the Ducati. After Barcelona we go to Donington with a positive attitude, it could be a tough track for us but we've already proved this year that the Ducati is good at a lot of circuits. I've never really cracked Donington but we'll see how we can piece it together this time. The flowing part is tough, down through Craner and into the Old Hairpin you're braking on the side of the tyres and the bike's moving around. I find the circuit a little dangerous in some points, if they improved that it'd probably be more enjoyable. Some of the other turns are a little bit funny, so it's really hard to try and compromise the set-up - whether you set it up for the tight and twisty bits, which are very important at the end of the race if you're in a battle, or if you set it up for the faster bits, where you make the time. I'm still not thinking about the championship, maybe later in the season we can start aiming for it, but the way we're going now is just perfect, so we're going to continue doing the same thing."

On Sky news Oz this morning Stoner also criticized the new surface at Donington calling it very slippery and unpredictable. He suggested they rip it up and use the old one again.

Yea but the only problem with that is that Stoner had problems with his traction control in qual that slowed him down.
It will be fixed by the race.

I sincerly hope this talented young rider has learnt a little discretion since the earlier interviews I heard of his when on the 250.

Pretty impressive effort keeping it upright as long as he did, pity he ran out of... err... dirt!
Making a pretty good effort after getting back onto the track too, catching and passing several bikes that got past him while he was busy trying to teach himself motocross.

Don't think they showed that interview on Sky - either that or I wasn't paying attention at the time. I don't recall ever seeing an interview with him on World SBK... has he got a bit of a record for "it's all me" if he wins, "it's the bike / tyres / team" if he loses type tantrums? Seems to be a few guys like that around in every kind of racing whether it be motorbikes, F1, Aussie V8s, or something else. I can't understand how they could act like that, publically abusing their team, equipment or sponsors. It's totally unprofessional and unbecoming, and will get you nowhere fast.

Yeah, he did perform with heaps of promise and his addition has helped add even more interest to this VERY interesting class. But not a legend yet. Stoner is probably most suited to wear that cap thus far into the season. He's done EVERYTHING right.

Pedrosa at least with a poor tyre selection (too soft). He was running well early but faded with his rubber.
I am pleased to finally be seeing Hayden start to get back towards the front. Hopefully the bike has been developed enough to get him out of repeated high teen places. Apparently, Honda turned off all the traction control devices on his bike so he could return to his dirt-tracker slidin' past.

Tyres seem to be such a huge issue in Moto GP this year (more than usual)
Did you see the state of Rossi's rear tyre near the end of the race, sreaded.
He did real well to take forth place.
