I have an XR200R 1998 what do u poeple think of these bikes?

XR200 has an excellent engine. By 1998 they were running the lowered chassis with less suspension travel so these later versions were never a patch on earlier ones especially the pre '84 versions which still had 18" rear wheel back when they were a great small enduro weapon. For trail rides and general dirt riding they are perfect with a good wide ratio gear box so they can climb mountains and still cruise OK on open ground.

is the engine tuned in any way?

what about the exhaust it sounds pretty good so it must be right?

The 1998 model stock had a pretty restricted airbox intake and exhaust outlet (the earlier models had no similar restrictions) and could be tweaked. Depends what your one is like as in the last 9 years someone has probably derestricted it anyway.

If its running well and its fast enough for you I've leave the tuning as is and practice just riding it faster as in learning more good dirt riding techniques.
