Hey guys.
Managed to get my full licence the other week so the VTR 250 is up for sale. I think I've got the pricing pretty sharp since it is a grand less than any others on trademe at the moment. Still, it is winter though so probably less buyers out there.

I think I'll follow in the footsteps of mcjim and get a supersport

Anyways, take a look and let me know if you have any questions at all.

You won't regret it - but try some other bikes too.

That's sounding pretty sweet :D

They're a bloody handsome bike, especially in the flesh. Monster-clone or not, I'd still hit it.

I have a question?... with any left over money, (which there may not be any of) will you be investing in some protective gear?... ie: gloves/jacket which seem to saddly missing in the very short vid?

actually had the SS in the garage for a month before I got my full. Basically had a chance to buy it off a workmate and had to go for it. So yeah, had both bikes for a while.

Not to mention the fact that people will be surprised how little a supersport costs to maintain compared to say a Gixxer or a CBR!

I've had to buy a few bits and have found it cheaper than the Honda for parts.

On fuel consumption alone you're saving about $800 per 10,000km. And they have really long service intervals too. Totally different animal to the desmoquattros.

And the sound.........ahhhhhh!

and I've only got a 600 (but will buy a 1000ds once the kids are older and the missus goes back to work!)

yeah economy on the open road suprised me a little. 50mpg or 21K's/L. Not too bad at all. Have heard positive things about the 1000ds mcjim, sounds like a good plan.
I'm up for the 30,000K service pretty much now. What sort of coin has a 10k service cost you?

10k service is Just oil and filters and a poke an' a prod. - 'bout $150-$200 I reckon.

Are you sure the previous owner got the tappets (valve shims) and the belts changed at 20,000?

I have my trusty owners manual handy....let me read..

30K service:
Replace Engine Oil Filter
Check Valve Clearance
Check Timing Belts
Replace Spark Plugs
Check Fuel Filter
Check carbs and idle
Replace Air Filter
Check engine oil pressure
Check Compression

So a bit of labour maybe but in terms of parts just a filter, oil and plugs.
