Where to ride around Auckland?

hi, i'm based on North Shore, Auckland, i just bought an xr400 and looking for anywhere to ride. Woodhill looks good, i heard there may be some ride out in Riverhead, any suggestions please (tracks/parks/anywhere allowed)? thanks

There are a few options, Woodhill Motorcycle Park is the closest and good at this time of year if you know where the good trails are and how to avoid the whoops (unless you like whoops which is not likely on your XR).
Really I feel the best option is either a Greg Power trail ride in Woodhill or a Waitemata Motorcycle Club trail ride in Woodhill at this time of year. Not cheap options, $30.00-$35.00 but a good days riding at either. Greg had a trail ride today and the next Waitemata Club trailride is on the 8th July. Someone usually posts a thread about them on here. Other wise check out the events on http://www.silver-bullet.co.nz/index.php

I've not ridden in years and want to check out the bike, initially i just want to blast the bike around to get a feel for it.

Besides all these proper motocross/trail tracks, what is the closest patch of dirt/sand to N.Shore that I could take the bike for a short run? (ie. not the local reserve or street where people complain)

Saturday I'll probably head to Woodhill.
