Came up 22 yesterday and the bottom end was mint although around the school, Glen Murray, Onewhero, there was alot of patchwork, freshly laid repairs etc. Some mid corner and others in the braking zone leading into. Watch out for loose gravel etc.

Seriously, the surface on 22 is rubbish at the moment. If you're not being forced to pick between gravel patches and potholes, you're in the shade on a wet patch that doesn't dry out between sunrise and sunset, or throwing up a cow shit and gravel tail into the visor of the rider behind you.

The top of 22 is fucked but an alternate route heading in the same direction is to pop over the top of Hunua from Clevedon (via monument rd and paparimu) to SH2, then down from Mangatawhiri to Mercer (I forget the road).

Quick jaunt down SH1 to Rangiriri then towards Glen Murray take a left down Rotongaro Rd to Hetherington Rd, right up Hetherington to SH22 where it is not too bad through to Ngaruawahia.

Went & surveyed 22 this afternoon, appart from a little bit of gravel & the odd wet patch it is all good.
Gravel patches start about 20km in from the tuakau bridge.
Wet patches happen everywhere.:innocent:
At a sane(ish) speed it is no problem & some of the gravel is even signposted :gob:

Do see a doctor about the wet patches thing.... I know a good indian Doc up this way, he is a blast!

Northland to Waitomo and the Bay of Plenty
A period of rain today with some heavy thundery falls, easing overnight. Fine tomorrow but a few showers persisting in Northland.

Yet another way of saying sunshine with showers :dodge:

Weather update.... its warm and wet in Auckland at the moment (just how I like it - the fire is on :) ) but it should fine up a bit by Sunday with southerlies.

Hell, its thunder and lightning over here at present, I also notice there are road reports of Deisel spills in the Waikato, Think I'll peer out the window at 7:30am, check the rain radar and see if the weathers improved, if not, its probably a good day to do a bit of maintenance ;-(

Yep rain and lots of it here. Something interesting for you. Rain and diesel and some dumb bitch with no brake lights stopped at a green light make for n interesting experience.

Also, having a 200+KG bike land on your knee even at slow speeds does make you walk a little funny...

Still a tad chilly at 11 degrees (yeah I know that's tropical to y'all in the South... but I used to live and ride down in the mighty south so know what its like when you hit black ice :gob:)

nearly had to use the boat to get out of the street this morning,should have gone on the ride , had to buy 2 new batteries for the boat $190 each ,but did get a ride in and the repairs and adjustments to beast worked great, corners better now and still looks good, pissed off with the boat but, not even summer and having to spend money on that, but i will get a few of us together and get a fishing trip going

yeah, crazy steve, myself and sidewinder went.
it was good, chased a dude on a super duke back from raglan, and some guy on a VTR thou who i couldn't shake...
it was great weather too...
