A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in New Zealand.

Well, there's a very simple answer.

Nobody bothered to check the oil, so we just didn't know we were getting low.

The reason for that oversight is purely geographical.

Our OIL TANKS are in Auckland,

Our REFINERY is in Northland,

Our OIL WELLS are located in Taranaki

And our DIPSTICKS are all in WELLINGTON.

So Now you Know......

Ha - but you can't really blame the public for not knowing that...they know only that one doesn't touch it if it's not yellow:innocent:

What does that have to do with anything? All that happens to that oil is it gets piped to port taranaki and then exported to Oz and Asia. 99.9% of oil produced in NZ is exported. The oil which is refined at Marsden is all imported from overseas so thats where the problem lies. :scooter:
