Well just did the basic handling skills test and course. I did it with John \. Excellent guy, very knowledgeable. I strongly recommend that if your getting your licence def do the 2 hr course with him. I came from a background of dirt biking, but did not know alot about the road riding. I strongly recommend that you look at one of these courses, not so much to show you how to road (though if you have never ridden before you soon would be.), more importantly
how to ride safely on the road. I feel more confident about the road after doing the course.

I see you have an FZR250, I am thinking about getting one, how well do you think they would do as a first bike?

Dont you kinda need it to get a licence? Or is the 2hr course more than test standard

You can just go in and do the test or take the 2 hr course. I thoroughly recommend the course. As a first bike Im not sure, Ill let you know. I purchased this as it was at a reasonable price. I was orginally going down the naked bike road. I believe a VTR 250 is still a excellent first bike. The less experience you have the more the VTR 250 is a better option. Just my opinion, if someone else can sound in here with advise that would be good.

Good on you,
StoneChucker used to have a CBR250 which did the job nicely and was able to keep up with us (100kph on restricted) as long as there was no head wind.
Just get out there and do it. :niceone:
