Hi Everyone,
My names Aravind. I am a total noob to motorcycles. I have recently got my motorcyle learners and bought a bike during the weekend :). I have been lurking around KB for a wee while, was really waiting to buy a bike before posting. There is tons of information on these forums, keeps me occupied for good 2 hrs a day. I think this place is great, awesome bike culture and friendly people.
Now to the bike:
After reading the forums and comparing VTR's to Hornets, I went for the hornet, the big rear tyre does it for me. I have met gijoe1313 of here and we checked out the bike at cyclespot and finalised the deal. Thanks for your help Justin (gijoe), really owe you for that.
Bought some good gear too, Rjays evo and trousers, Rjays GP1 helmet, and Gaerne Aquatech Boots. Need to find me some good gloves. Most of my gear is blue, blue jacket, helmet and blue bike :P. So the gloves need to be blue or black with some good armour. Please recommend me some :).
I managed to get 500 worth of gear on the $6495 listing price for the hornet. Also got them to get me new mirrors, radiator swapped (it had some bent fins) and the rear calpi thingy, it had a chip in it, (thanks again Justin). The bike's just been serviced and new tyres too :).
Here are some pics which I took from my shitty phone, will post better pics when the bike gets delivered.
Happy riding everyone :).

You've chosen what I consider to be the best 250cc available.
Detuned CBR250 engine ( so it's under stressed, and will last forever ) which is better than the Bandit, as its liquid cooled and has cam gears (instead of a cam chain, which often has to be replace along with the tensioner)
And you can pick up relatively late models, so things which often trouble the older 250 sports bikes (like carbs and electrics) aren't going to come up during your period of ownership.
No fairings to break when you drop it either.
Have fun dude!

Welcome to KB and riding mate, you have a nice ride there and should enjoy it for ages. Might want to check out the AWNMR or Auckland Wednesday Night Mentor Rides for some training and practice to help you build skills.
Good on you GIjoe for helping out a newbie.

Hi dude.
follow gijoe1313's lead and you won't go far wrong. Just don't follow his lines on twilight road or SH22 (he tends to get at one with the shrubbery).
I'm assuming that was you I met at Barry's point road on Saturday (I am the Scottish bloke that was parked next to your car).
See you out on the road.

Hi, yea it was me who you met at Barry's point. What happend to you guys, we were waiting and thought you guys were leaving so I had a head start, assuming that you guys would catch up. But that was some bad day. Hope your ride went well.
Macktheknife: Is there a thread where I can find more info on the AWNMR?
sAsLEX: Thanks for the link, will check it out :).
Thanks again for the welcome guys. Will defenetly keep the rubber side down and also concentrate and have full control on my right hand (its the culprit).

We weren't moving fast at all - Barry's Point Road is a bitch to get 5 bikes across and with the number of speed cameras on and around the bridge we wouldn't be catching up with anyone later either!

Thanks guys, I got the bike and the gear. Havent ridden her yet, I just start her up every 2 days or so. Was waiting for my gloves to arrive, which they did yesterday and now I am just waiting for the weather to clear up a bit so I can practise a bit.
Going to take some nice pics during the weekend and post them up :).
T-Thunder13: There are few for sale now on trademe, there are also two other ppl selling their hornets on here as well. Goodluck with it :). Ohh and if you need any info on hornet gijoe1313 is the man to contact.
