Last night on the box it was a Cretin claiming that Paua undersize by 20mm were big enough. "What's an inch?" he said. The bloody things were less than three inches, one more is quite a difference.
There's no shortage of some kinds of people around here.

Can't disagree with you there, completely cut and dry case. Why do we pay to keep him breathing?

Lethal injection.
A rope is re-useable.

As a developer, I'd be keen to write the software for a 'punishment' machine if I could get a backer to pay for the hardware.

True justice would be to lock the bastard in an enclosed space with someone who has the same weight, power and experience advantage over him that he had over Liam. Then and ONLY THEN will he truly experience the futile desperation that must have filled that young boy's last minutes on earth.
If he's appealing the sentence then he still doesn't realise what evil he has done.

His argument was that his mother felt the sentence was too long. Why oh why do we even bother to entertain criminals like this?

Basic human rights. You too can make a total dick of yourself in front of anyone interested, at the expense of us the taxpayer.
You have to commit a crime first though.

Ha, don't chuck that my way. This guy gave up his 'basic human rights' the moment he squeezed life out of Liam's body.

the fact that his mother is also saying its too long also indicates why the numbnut fucknob arsebandit bellend gargler was inside in the first place. I say fuck his mum up in front of him, then stick him in a cell for the rest of his life with pictures of her mangled corpse. Damn it...where's my pills

Despite the fact that this worthless pile of puke is her flesh and blood, the mother's innocent. She's an entitled to an opinion as any of us, no matter how wrong she is.

Yet another waste of space trying to get off the punishment for his actions...
Lethal injection costs money.
So does rope........
Drowning in a septic tank would however be free

And if not, why not?

Na, people should have to get a license to have a kid just like a bike so that useless bitches like that can get filtered out.
Thats my opinion, apparently I'm entitled to it :shifty:

Maybe not, Greg Newbold "The Big Huey" criminologist has just released a new book. His studies indicate that jails do nothing to rehabilitate 80% (I think) The problem is the environment they grow up in.

What a useless dropkick piece of shit. Liam no doubt was no little angel, and probably provoked an attach from all the accounts read in the case to date, but this guy is just psychotic. What sort of moron represents themself in a murder trial in any case?
The bastard better actually stay in there a minimum of 20 years.

Unfortunately the bastard isn't allowed to be executed. He should, however, have his sentence doubled for for trying to drag this kind of crap through the courts.
I feel sorry for Liam's family.

If they did they wouldn't get my vote. I have a fundamental objection to the taking of life in a non combat/defence situation. The State lowering itself to a premeditated murderer is nothing to be proud of.
Let's not argue that point here, just my stake in the ground (I'll happily talk about it in a dedicated thread however... I'll talk till the cows come home...)

I went to college with Liam.
That makes two people I know murdered.
I know two who got murdered and one indirectly. Prolly not so unusual.
A friend who had a one night stand with the wrong guy (samurai sword), a local woman I didn't know too well but occasionally chatted to when dog walking (strangled by partner), an exes prior girlfriend as well (hadn't met).
Seems to just reflect the ghetto nature of NZ. I think we're a bit like how NY used to be. It's sure no place for kids these days. I got to realise that when staffing community housing for mentally ill - we had a fair few high danger ones free to roam local parks. Not the NZ I grew up in.
But wasn't Liams killer a known psycho who years ago would have been kept institutionalised and out of our hair. Pretty sure I heard he was of that ilk and like a large part of the prison population better placed in the health system. Might have it wrong as have not followed close but I thought he was like that kind.
In which case you can't blame a known shark set free in the local pool for chewing on the swimmers - can ya'?

Yep, about 20 years behind what happened in the Ghettos, but watch this space, coming soon to a street near you...
Love the shark comparison tho...
