This I cant believe. Im not sure if anyone has seen this type of thing happen before but I sure as hell havent lol. After I took the brunt of the impact on my left leg I must have gripped the bars pretty hard & obviously from the pics here bent them verticle before the dismount lol.
Can anyone confirm if this is a normal accurance to bend the bars like that or not?

I think the poor wee thing is trying to surrender.... :innocent:
Looks like you went over the bars and bent em up with your knees? basically it's an accident so all sorts of random stuff happens... Nothings 'normal'...

they've just rotated in the headset. probably not tight enough in the first place.
just goes to show you how much force involved though

jeeze... poor thing looks like a rabbit that got spooked. lmfao.
as paul said, all accidents happen different, and have a different affect of both rider and bike. my own bin, my right knee left a massive dent in the tank. i dont remember it happening, but remember the evidence.

Looks to me like the bars are now U shaped instead of much flatter.
Amazing, the forces involved. You're lucky you weren't busted up more, Boob.

Kinda an extreme way to get ape-hangers on yer ride innit?
But in all seriousness, that shows a tremendous load force - you must have been holding on tighter than a schooboy! How you didn't end up wrenching your arms or muscular system is a miracle! Guess all those gym sessions may have paid off! :apumpin: (hardly used this smiley!)

My jacket is still like new, not so much as a single mark anywhere on it, bloody amazing. So I must of popped up in the air and come straight down instead of sliding.

Boob --Im NOT having a go at ya here but mate FUCK THE JACKET Save yaself. You could be up for two busted wrists iffn ya hung on long enough. I know ya can't predict an accident but wherever you can-- get as far from the bike as you can then starfish so ya stop faster.

I can only guess you didnt read my first bin thread? One minute I was riding along minding my own business about to pass by a T intersection & at the very last minute an 18yr old girl (licenced for 6 months) pulled out in front of me. It happened so fast I didnt plan anything, not a thing, didnt even get close to raising a finger to reach for the front brake, just............."SHIT"............."SLAM". Was only making reference to the condition of my jacket as I find it amazing that its still in 100% brand new unmarked condition, thats pretty incredible.

agreed. how did you hit the car, boob? head on, side on [t-bone] etc?
my bike vs car, i hit the side of her car, and used the momentum to force myself up and away from the bike and any other danger. am lucky i didnt end up under the wheels of oncoming cars. but, i knew that if i stayed with the bike, id likely get pinned underneath as it fell and get burned.
frosty... much respect, :sunny: but i think you can "predict" accidents to a certain degree. or, at least, predict what you will do. it was a concious decision that i made to push up with my legs. i thought, "on impact, JUMP!" same with when i ended up in that fence... concious decision to stay with the bike, cos i likely would have ended up spiked otherwise.

She pulled out as I was on the intersection travelling at close to 100Km/h giving me a nano second to react ie: no chance to even think about doing anything. I blacked out before I went over the bars, dont remember anything. So as much as id like to say I "decided" to do this or that, it happened way to fast.

Holy shit man. You said you held on well but, shit.
I had an SR250, one of the later ones. And not as bent.
Glad you're not stuffed up too badly.
