You will love Malaysia mate! A fantastic country that will assault and delight your senses! Bargain at all the stalls you go to, negotiate fare prices or a rate with cabbies before-hand (keep an eye on the meter and you will get a sense of how much charges will be)
Eat where the locals go and you will have an explosion of taste sensations. When you realise you can have over 60 kebab sticks for less then the cost of a movie ticket here... it's heaven mate!
Keep an eye on your belongings and try not to notice the armed personnel around a times! Keep your fluids up, humidity and dehydration can be a killer ... and if it smells like a sewer, it's odds on there are Durian around  You'll see signs in hotels banning them
If you can, take in the Batou caves and Ginteng (sp?) - if you really must take a break from the heat, go to the swimming complex...it has an Egyptian theme!
And oh, yeah - if a deal sounds too good to be true... it usually is! "Brand name" products are exactly that... brand only in name! I had a mate who bought "Ralph Lauren" smelly stuff for the "bargain basement price" of $20...which ended up burning him and leaving the faint whiff of urine!
See if you can score/read a copy of Lonely Planet about Malaysia... Have fun!

Jeez, I'll have to pull finger then and get my report on our trip to Samoa done so I can beat you.
I need to post mine too as I asked for advice in a thread I started and I received some which helped us ... so that needs to be acknowledged. I will also offer a new tip for others (but not here).
Incidentally, to our shock as we stood in the departure place in Apia Airport waiting to come home we were approached by a fellow traveller and asked if we had room in our bags for a small parcel that she 'didn't have room for in her bag'. :shit: Umm, yeah, we declined even though we were both about 5 kilos under our weight restriction.

Well we arrived after 11 hours in cattle class we were lucky though we had front row seats so we had extra leg room and was easy to spread out lol and move around
Flight was awesome no major pot holes on the way
Got to our apartment in KL About 10 pm KL time about 2am NZ was buggered and tired
got the internet up and running this morning so now you can all have daily reports
Limo drive from airport was a eye opener lol
about a 4 min drive to centre of town never used the indicators once
and Mopeds are everywhere just as many as cars
well off to break fast will post some pics in a day or so

Heehee, try not to drink too much of the fresh sugar cane juice in a bag! Remember to find the night stalls where food alleys are - you'll be able to eat grilled stingray (delicious) and other yummy treats.
Teh Terak (pulling tea) is a must! And if you're a guy, there's another brew which is meant to perk your manhood up :msn-wink:
Try going in the KFC and see the bottles of chilli sauce on the tables...and don't be too suprised when they charge you tax on top of the meal (they aren't included in the prices hehe)
There's also another food franchise where you can get spiders made with root beer (that's the drink, not the 8 legged kind!) See if you can get to the chinese market stall alley, a ton of useless stuff, but some good touristy value.
The Royal golf club is also a good spot to have a meal and if you feel up to it at night, the Hard Rock Cafe is a good bet (live entertainment) - also if you want a trip to the bizarre side, go to Captain's Cabin (if its still around) where they have tranny shows (like being in Vegas, just ... not in Vegas!)
If you want electronics, there's a place just specially for that, floors and floors of it. If you want the latest software, ditch the el cheapo disc coverings and buy a CD wallet and store as much as you want in them instead :innocent:
And when you travel out, don't forget to take your own packets of tissues!
Have fun, I know you will!

Very kewl, yeah I did that night glow-worm trip as well. Made me think of xmas tree lights for some funny reason! And then, when I was down south island, I saw them close up without having to get on a boat! Go figger!
Looks like you are having a ball! Keep up the travel log and don't be afraid to do something that scares you each day! :msn-wink:
