Ok sometime this week I am going to try and get it at the airfilter, oil filter and fuel filter on my FZR to give them a good clean. I assumed it was just a wash with the hose but I've been told I need to apply oil to the airfilter, so forth and so on. So how do I clean these?

depends on the filter if you have an old school paper air filter i wouldn't try clean it with water, try paint thinner/turps or something that evaporates quickly. It might be easier to buy some of that filter foam from bike shop and cut it to your filter shape (probably round $15.

Not sure if it helps, on my off road bikes, to clean air filter I would

1) Rinse/wash in kerosene, (Not petrol)

2) Then hot soapy water

3) Then allow to dry naturally

4) Soak in airfilter oil, gently squezze out excess oil..

Most off road bike shops have custom drums/containers for soaking your filter in, but a sneaky trip to the kitchen cupboards will normally reveal all sorts of handy plastic tupperware shit, just right for your bike service requirments.

Make sure you block airfilter box while you have your filter out so shit does not get in.Also when you re fit the new filter, I would smear a bit of light grease around the surface were filter makes contact with filter box.

I used to have more than one filter per bike, so you always have a clean & oiled filter ready to go in .

As for oil and fuel filters I would just replace them.

Good luck.
