Any one seen that huge bright star in the sky tonight. I noticed it when I was enjoying a wiskey out on the deck. Thought it was the drink doing it to me but it wasnt :)

By my (drunkin) calculations its North East.

Is it a new star or what?

Too cloudy here.

I did see something bright before last light a few nights ago. Possibly a planet, rather than a star? CBA to look it up..

I'd have to be about two kilometers up to get above these gloomy rainy wellington clouds and see this star. Is it a nova? Or just a bright planet? Someone please tell!

if its far brighter than anything normally is, its probably jupiter

when its at its closest, jupiter is VERY bright and through my 114mm scope i can see most of its moons too and a lot of the surface patterns on the planet itself - awesome sight

Was probably just some swamp gas that reflected off Venus. Look for guys wearing black suits.
