Finally got the last part of my gear today - Gaerne Spirit Boots that were the most comfortable boots i have come across after trying a few - from rjays, dririder and revit.
Now I feel a bit more reassured that if i do indeed f**k up and come off at least i have done as much as i can as far as gear is concerned.

so i had to break them in by riding round wellington this afternoon - in what turned into the craziest rain i have seen since i moved here from ireland! incredible. at one stage i think the ark floated past me on my way down aro street. At least i found out all my gear is waterproof ;)

The boots sound great....bet you are pleased to have all the gears now.

Remember to watch out for the painted road markings....try to avoid riding on them in the wet as they are slippery as glass....especially when turning!

aye i noticed in the wet the white painted bits are hellish - but worse than that the metal gratings in the middle of the road - the round ones especially for some reason - i can feel the tire actually slipping to the side when i go over them at any angle. scary biccies. but aye have learned to avoid when possible and am keeping off the white or yellow lines even in the dry to condition myself to steer clear.
