Well the time has come to move my gorgous black manx pussycat (http://www.iomguide.com/manxcat.php) in true biker fashion.... via a cat box on my pillion seat!

My question is though... will it really distress my pussy? Or will she be ok if I nanna it? It will only be a 10-15 min trip but I am worried about putting the poor little mite into shock! I have until wednesday to decide if she will be ok, as that is my next day off work.

Thoughts people?

I delivered a kitten once in a cardboard box, approx 30 km at speeds up to 160 km. Turned out to be the only laid back cat from the litter!:sunny:

Even though it's a repost, it works because it's a comeback line... wish I had thought of it first... green rep sent

depends though, it could go either way. The cat may get really stressed out by the fact that its zooming past stuff so fast and the wind and whatever, or it may be fine with it... i personally wouldnt reccommend it, just to be safe...

Go to the vet and get the cat a light sedative... that will help calm the cat during the ride. Follow instructions from the vet when to give the cat this medication.

When you have the cat in the cat carrier that is securely tied on the back of the bike, have it completely closed in so that the cat cant see.... like wrap the cat box in a towel to help muffle out the noise etc etc.

Ride carefully.

Or else borrow your sister's car for this short trip.

When you arrive at said new destination, keep the cat inside your flat for a few nights and days until it gets used to its new home.

Just keep in the back of your mind this could be the last pussy you have for a while.

It's a 50/50 she could handle it, so ...

You could maybe give her a meal first, then again she could bring it back up on you with all that up and down motion - motion sickness, but on the other hand a hungry pussy is a mean pussy, nothing like a good bit of meat to fill them up.

Maybe put a battery operated toy in her box, am sure she might get a bit of pleasure out of it, then again a toy may freak her out with all that movement, which could bring out the claws.

A cage might be better but most pussies hate the bondage thing, also if she has an 'oopsie' in the cage it would be better in the cage than having your pussy leak down the side of your bike.

But as you said, it wont last long - the ride that is

I hope which ever you decide that you and your pussy have many happy years together with lots of love and pleasure, with minimal fur balls

Travel safe

<hints id="hah_hints"></hints>I agree.

My cat is completely fine with this. I took him on the tank down and around our culdersack a couple of times before the neighbours started giving me really horrified looks. But then again my cat is about the most chilled out pussy ever, apart from my mum's first cat she had as a child; she used to push him around in a baby carriage.

All depends on the cats temperament. Max and Rastus managed it fine!

Buy some Feliway spray from the vet. It is not a drug. It is a synthesised version of the cats facial pheromones. It helps calm stressed cats in all sorts of situations. It is great to use for travelling & to help them settle into a new home.
How ever you decide to travel with your cat, make sure it is in a secure carrier, because if it freaks & gets away, you may never get it back.:gob:

FWIW I actually have relevant experience in this area.

Light sedative, cat in a backpack with a towel in the bottom, zip it chut and (critical step) cable tie the zipper shut. If it peeks open just a bit, light comes in and the cat goes OUT.

Travel a to b, and release the cat into it's basket/onto something with a familar smell (idealyl from somewhere it normally sleeps).

Be prepared for extcrement in the bottom of the bag (hence the towel being needed...)
