What is the deal on advertising something at the wrong price?

I know if you put it on the product in the store you have to sell it at that price... but what about on the internet?

Nope same rules don't apply. a) It's a private sale so they don't apply, and b) generally on websites you'll see a disclaimer absolving themselves of everything.

Then again I could just sell a kidney and find out....

It's the limited edition 2005 R7, made in the same factory as the CBR924 Fireblade.

Yeah, there are special rules/laws about motor vehicles, and then there is the whole legal bollix about offer and acceptance: it just being an invitation to trade, you get interested and say "Yeah, I want to buy it for $5500" (the offer), and then they say, "No, it's a mistake - should've been $15,500" and then there's no legal contract, as they haven't accpeted your offer. Or summat.

as soon as the phrase 'engine type - heavy' comes up, you know it's a scam - it's been copied out of an e-bay listing. i made some enquiries into a hayabusa advertised like this, with an 021 phone number. i called the number, and got a message from a german guy, who had *just* gone back to germany, but if i would just deposit the money in his western union account, then i could have the bike, free shipping, GST paid, for NZ$7000!

sounds very similar to an enquiry Aff-man made for me to a guy selling a 2001 RSV 1000 for only $9500... listed as being in Auckland but when emailled to arrange a test ride/viewing said the bike was in Germany!! Bloody idiots.

Incidentally, western Union highly recommend AGAINST using them to conduct money transfers unless you already know the other party. To risky they reckon.

I think, due to the year, you should take the 1 and a 0 off that price.... then it'd be mine!
