Went for my full licence test today, weather was fricking good, the dude that was doing the testing was a real good sort and I passed!!! :niceone:

Only managed to loose him once, I had pulled over and was waiting for him to arrive. After about a minute of waiting I realised he wasn't coming. Turned around and found him waiting down a street around the corner, he was sweet though.

Shot home after the test and grabbed the new bike and then went for a cruise through town. :niceone:

I have the advantage of being over 25, so it's only 6 months on the learners & 6 months on the restricted. :cool2:

Good on yer mate, what kinda bike is ure new one?
I dont think i could stand to do the normal licence test ever again, i did it for my cage licence and its painfull, in porirua they dont even know what a bike looks like before they test you.
CBTA is all good though :D
I have a mate that may be interested in one of the bikes in a month if you still have them around by then, but dont take my word 4 it.

I've got a 1997 CBR600F3, it's the black & orange paint scheme. There's been a bit of interest in the bikes so far but no sale as of yet.

Once they sell I'll update my sig so keep an eye on it.

I went for a little pratice yesterday afternoon and half way through the ride the left rear indicator stopped working.
Would have been really good if it had happened on the way to the test!

i hated that i always aways go over the bike the day before someone needed to take it to a test, and go to test and something gone wrong with it

Hi Slingshot,

Hav you any comments about the CBR600F3? As I am going to get my full by end of the year and looking at either similar to yours or a SV650S. And won't mind a bit of idea of what I am getting myself into.

Massive differences to the 250's? weight? handling? natural progression from 250's? or would a 400 be better?

Thanks
Zapf

Devil, what turned out to be wrong with your bike?

Starter solenoid was borked. Uhm, no power was getting through to the rest of the bike, zip.

While it was being sorted, found out it was running way too rich so have had the fuel reset, new plugs and a new front brake rotor put on (yay! not warped! mmmm smooth stopping goodness).

After all that fiddling I popped my first real unintentional wheelie hah. It wasnt big, but stayed up for 4-5 seconds heh, Couldnt get rid of the grin for at least 10 minutes :D

Aftermarket. $400. A Kwakasucky one was about $600.

Yer midrange is really good now, got a big flat spot up top now though :( (15,500 - 17,000rpm ish).

Was trying to work out the fuel mileage after having it fiddled, but one of my nieces/nephews tweaked the odometer when I wasnt looking methinks, bah.

Bearing in mind that I've only ridden it a handful of times...It's fricking quick!!!

The suspension set-up is way too soft but I'm gonna have a fiddle with the settings.

The seat is real comfy, mind you that compared to the 250.

The front wheel and the road don't seem to like each others company when you're burning off an XR6 Turbo. I have a feeling that the throttle may have been bating them!!

I'll write a proper review once I've ridden it a bit.

While I can't comment on the difference between a 250 and the 600 (as I had a ZXR 150) I can say the F3 is awsome!!

I have had mine about a month now and am loving it. Its forgiving, comfortable, nice looking and fast... what more could I need?

Congrats Slingshot, you gonna come out to riverbank for some pool and to laugh at the boyracers on thursday?

I find my GSXR600 is bout the same for comfort being the seat and bike arent for long distance rides jus like my last one, but it moves when ya want it to, and seems to give more grip when i give more shit.

Not yet as its only my restricted hehehe.
First time on the motorway today, well, riding into a strong wind on a naked bike sucks major cojones! Never realised how much stress on your neck there is :(

But otherwise, no bright yellow L shaped target on the back!
